Getting a bit embarrassing this post now. Bobby has only ever spoken positivley about the latics and with our current situation its now becoming a bit of a joke.

Ian, I see that you are new to this board; maybe never watched the Latics or know enough about our beloved Roberto’s demeanour. Yes Roberto only speaks about Wigan in a positive manner; but then he speaks about everything in a positive manner. Example; we lose to Spurs 8-1 and his first comment is that we can take positives from the game. It was like this, week in & week out; to the point it became a tedious bunch of spin. He must have the most rose tinted spectacles of all time, so much so that he was continually blind to the reality of a situation ( just ask the Everton fans ).

Don’t get us wrong; we worship Roberto as a Latics Legend, but his positive blinkered stubborn approach eventually took us down. I personally thought that he would be the perfect Chaiman & Ambassador for our Club. Great player, nice fella but misguided as a football coach & Manager. He may have lead us to victory in some great games, but then had his worst game of all against Swansea when it mattered the most. Myself & my footballing mates have spent a fortune watching the Latics since the NPrem days; so we are entitled to our say and our opinion. Keep following the Latics and you might eventually understand.

If only it had been 8-1 then I suppose that would have been a positive.

By the time that Kranjcar put the 9th goal in ( 94th minute ), I was back on the tube to Euston; so in a positive manner I gave Roberto the benefit of the doubt since I only witnessed 9 of the 10 goal thriller.

It’s the Bobsessives who have the blinkered view! Roberto was hardly to blame for Wigan’s position.

While other clubs were increasing their spending dramatically, Martinez was required to reduce Wigan’s wage bill by 22%.

He had the smallest squad in the Premier League and, on top of that, a long injury list. For the Swansea game, Ramis, Alcaraz, Figueroa and Beausejour were all missing, and Caldwell was clearly not fit to play.

Wigan did not have sufficient resources to compete in two competitions – the Premier League and the FA Cup. Memorably, Martinez took his patched-up team to Wembley and won the Cup.

Wigan could not defy gravity forever, and the inevitable duly happened.

One of my customers who is an Everton fan came out the other day and said ” You’re a Wigan fan aren’t you, well do you want your manager back because he is useless, I have to turn the tv off when he does post match interviews because of the fuckin rubbish he comes out with ” McCarthy and Roubles are the only good things to have come out of the whole sorry affair he said and that many of his fellow fans/mates are in agreement that the first season was a breath of fresh air because Moyes had been there too long but the honeymoon period is now well and truly over! I wonder what he made of yesterday’s performance!

You’re a bit of a betting man Phil; so why not take a tenner from your recent good fortune and put it on Bobby to be sacked by the New Year !

I think he will see out his contract but there most certainly won’t be any Champions league football! :)

I thought it was a nice gesture that both he and Graeme Jones were going to play in (called off) charity match last Friday in Ashton.

For a couple of ‘Judases’ they still hold a lot of respect from people within the club, and it’s good to see that they both still live in the area.

He is a very amiable man Johnny but he ain’t the manager that many thought he was that is my point! Yes he will promise this and that, they all do but his obstinate ways are still very evident and it would appear that a lot of Everton fans have seen beyond the façade and ‘Psychobabble’and they don’t like what they see! A thoroughly decent chap though! ;)

              Good evening Papa.
You can buy that beer in Southport; at the fire station end of Lord Street there is a quirky little bar that sells hundreds of different bottle beers ( worth a visit ).

Anyway, think I’ll put a tenner on Bob getting the boot by Christmas !

Easter is giving him the benefit of the doubt.

              More like OBC….

Out Before Christmas – and that was 1 year 10 months ago!

What is it with Leyland and Lostock Hall?

              We’re going round in circles.

But on Saturday 19 December, we’re going to Barnsley!

That must be the Royal We, that you are referring to; because you didn’t go to Barnsley the last time out !
