The only treacherous thing Bruce did really was give me a crick with his dull brand of football.

Amazing these football related complaints, I seem to have developed a permanent stoop watching our goal keepers picking the ball out of the back of the net under martinez.

    9 times in 1 game
    8 times in 1 game
    6 times in 1 game
5 times in 3 separate games
    4 times in 12 games
3 times on a whopping 18 separate occasions.

I must admit that those games were certainly not dull.

No they weren’t, and neither were the wins against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City, or the thumping of Newcastle at the DW, or winning the FA Cup Final.

I know which I’ve preferred watching, and it was wasn’t the grinding out of a one-nil win with a tight back four and a hoof upfield for Heskey to nod it on.

Not biting, mate. I couldn’t give a shit what anyone else thinks. You’ll certainly not change my opinion of which style of football I prefer to watch. I ain’t getting involved in comparing two managers who are no longer at the club.

But if you lot have a burning desire to be proved ‘right’, just crack on and knock yourselves out.

Double-post – thought we’d seen the last of those.

My “burning desire” has never been to be “proved right” it has always been to counter that everything bruce did was as bad as you and many others have made out, and most things martinez did were far from perfect, infact although some was sublime at times much of it was dull, boring mistake ridden dross far worse than anything seen under bruce.

If anything has been proven right, it is martinez has the same values of loyalty as Bruce has been accused of many, many times on here.

Mine was more of a case of predictive text on my phone saying things I had not typed, which for some reason when I tried to edit it “double posted”

christ this is hard work on my phone.

    What double posts? ;)

Told you, you’re not going to change my opinion, so save your countering for someone who is arsed. ;)

Hardly, Martinez didn’t run off the first time something didn’t suit or somebody else came along with a better offer.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely disappointed and surprised that Martinez has decided to go now, but I don’t hold it against him. His loyalty is to himself at the end of the day, certainly not to a bunch of no-mark pricks who have tried to run him out of town for the last four years – no offence.

McClaren’s only previous venture in to the Championship (at Forest) failed, I’d prefer someone who has been previously successful in the Championship eg Di Matteo (took WBA up instantly after relegation) or Poyet (who has worked wonders at Brighton). Although Meulensteen hasn’t succeeded in the Championship before, I’d have him over McClaren simply because he is a winner and would possibly bring some other ex-United staff members with him.

So when bruce put “himself” first a bunch of “no-mark pricks” went into a feeding frenzy of hatred against him and relished in his ultimate demise at sunderland, but now the shoe is on the same foot with martinez he is forgiven.

The words double standards don’t do you justice.

One thing in the bruce v martinez ability debate which is undeniable, bruce never “bottled” the challenge of getting a team back up that he was responsible for relegating, unlike lilly livered martinez.

Bruce had the nerve to jump ship before it had even sunk leaving Birmingham to get relegated while joining us.

At least Martinez had the decency to see out the season.

In a thread titled lightside/darkside you said this about bruce leaving Birmingham to come to WAFC.

He was on the rocks. I cant remember the ins and outs of it all but the new owner came in made it public they didnt want him but didnt seem to have the money to pay up his contract so it all became a bit embarassing….

Would you like a moment to decide which version you want to use next.
