So what’s stopping Dave from putting a decent wedge on at 500/1, appointing himself for a while, claim his “winnings” then resign. ;)
The only treacherous thing Bruce did really was give me a crick with his dull brand of football.
Amazing these football related complaints, I seem to have developed a permanent stoop watching our goal keepers picking the ball out of the back of the net under martinez.

The very fact that Bobby managed to bounce back after those awful defeats shows what a good manager he his wouldn’t you say after the 9-1 drubbing at White hart lane we have won twice in that stadium beaten Chelsea and Man Utd plus Liverpool along the way chuck in the odd FA CUP FINAL win and he’s not done to bad as the Bobster

I know you have always had great difficulty reading what is in front of you, so I will explain it to you again.
Yes “bobster” did do well at times, but the whole point of what I am saying is bruce is not half as bad as some on here claim and martinez is not as good as many believe.
And my final point is they are both exactly the same when it comes to honour and loyalty and selfish disregard of people who but blind faith in them, and I find it astounding that one can be castigated the other absolved for doing the same thing.
Bruce had the nerve to jump ship before it had even sunk leaving Birmingham to get relegated while joining us.
At least Martinez had the decency to see out the season.

In all honesty I may have made some of the above up in my head as I have been known to do but I am sure it was something along those lines and he was happy as larry to get the job.
A quick look on Bruce’s wikipedia clears up what I was running along the lines of…
“In May 2007, Birmingham’s board agreed a new contract for Bruce, but the unwillingness of the club’s prospective purchaser Carson Yeung to ratify it left his future uncertain”
He still jumped a sinking ship mid season from being in contract and I really don’t get why you think that that the above contradicts my first statement in your reply?

Birmingham were 4 places and 5 points above us when bruce left with a bigger budget than us so he hardly jumped ship for something better. but don’t let that get in the way of your anti bruce opinions.
Could I ask you what your stance would be if David Whelan asked Bruce to come here and manage us for a third time ?

I will repeat for the last time – I maintain Bruce was not as bad and martinez was not as good as you are claiming.
True martinez has won things that bruce hasn’t but on 2 occassions martinez has jumped ship intead of fighting a championship battle, whereas bruce has achieved promotion to th premier league 3 times, and proved he has stomach for that task.My my, that went well?, I nipped in once or twice during the debate and one or two interesting comments, quite a lot of shite as well, so I went to bed for a bit. I was not a big fan of jewells attitude to the fans and was not sorry to see him leave, I was disappointed to see bruce leave and agree it left a sour taste in the mouth over the circumstances.
Because of the relegation I feel that martinez has betrayed the faith the fans bestowed on him, despite what the ‘lightside’ claim/believe he was given an easy ride off WAFC fans over his four seasons, and he has not even tried to repay some of that faith by using his perceived ability to regain premier league status.
