As in the famous words of Delia “Were are you !?, let’s be having you !!”. The alarm clocks gone off and time is precious.

With only 4 weeks to the start of the the new season and now salary caps installed it’s time any new owner (if there is one) need to come forward and place the bond down asap and show commitment.

As each day goes by I fear for our club. Buying a business with no income not knowing if it will ever get back to normal just creates more uncertainty.
If they don’t step into the plate in the next 2 weeks we are basically gonna struggle to be ready for the start of the season and will face expulsion.

Without Covid I’d be confident but right now with the total lack of match day money I’m not so sure.

when the points deduction was confirmed my short term bitterness and anger was very quickly replaced with fear.
Not fear of losing players and status but actual survival as without any owner we very likely won’t be able to start next season.
However I am always a glass half full person and I think with the announcement of the long overdue salary cap and assets available I would be extremely surprised if the buyer isn’t found.
Just have to be positive and look forward to a different future that if we survive is likely to resemble what we used to be , a lower division club alternating between leagues 1 and 2.
Not what everyone wants to hear but at least we would have a club to support and let’s never forget the fact that many friendships have been built up over the years due to Latics and it would be awful to lose that.

The silence from the administrators Is deafening

The longer it goes on, the gloomier it looks. I’m beginning to suspect there is no buyer at the moment and the Administrator has been trying to entice interest by implying there was a lot of interest. As Cup Winners says, who wants to buy a business with much outlay, debts a plenty and no income stream aside from flogging your assets, which you actually need to operate.

I hope I’m wrong, but the longer it goes on, the more a Bolton/Bury situation becomes a reality.

Let’s hope he sticks to his promise, to help us out!

          David Whelan,

Said that he sold the club in “perfect” condition and that he does not understand how the side have ended up in administration.

The 83-year-old also confirmed that he is keen to assist and will “stick his nose in”.

He added: “I thought they were going to invest in the club and keep it going,
invest money and try to get them back in the Premier League, and now this…
I just cannot understand what they’ve done.
          It’s just so sudden.

“When I sold the club it was in a good condition, perfect.

“I’ll have to stick my nose in a little and have a look at what’s going on,
and see if I can find out what’s caused it.
          I’ll have to try,
because the people of Wigan will be in absolute shock, as I am.

“Wigan is Wigan. I built the stadium and it’s named after me, the DW Stadium,
so I’m going to have to see if I can help in any way shape or form.

          “Wigan going out of business,
          it’s something you cannot comprehend.
          I won’t let that happen.
The town of Wigan cannot let that happen.”

They all talk a good game; so it’s worrying that they are not blowing their weekly bugle !

Very worrying times, Im not expecting an instant coffee takover but I thought we might have had a couple of admin snippets “in talks” etc but nothing.
Silence is always a sign of bad news. I’ve a feeling the drop to L1 combined with salary cap, the drop in Championship money and to top it off Covid, no crowds or matchday income will make us far less appealing.

Even if we had a definitive return for fans that would help but constant spikes and all in the NW means this could go on well into next year.

After consultation the NWCFL formally withdrew their support for
Bury and the Isle of Man on July 6.

Since the league made their stance clear,
FC Oswestry Town have resigned from the competition, creating one spot.

This is the nightmare, we could face, if funds are not forth coming.

When is the Deadline, that we have to confirm to the EFL,
that we have the funds to compete in League 1?
