Work with loads of Knobbers and Rovers supporters so Monday will be painful ……again. Simply atrocious. Cook has the squad he wants ,so time to use it.No more loyalty bollocks. Our best 11 last year not up to it so get the new ones in and play get at em football. Start with keeper rest,Mulgrew in then Moore, lowe,William’s,and the Bright lad from Wolves. Yesterday was as bad as last season and if Cook doesn’t let the 10 million investment loose the IEC wont be long removing him.
11 August 2019 at 7:14 pm #180296After the game Cook announced they were all in for Sunday training.
Lets hope the players see this as a way of improving and putting things right and they dont frown upon it as been a form of punishment for the utter shlt performance Saturday.
This can backfire on a manager so he best tread carefully.11 August 2019 at 7:18 pm #180297People wetting their knickers over spending 7m on 2 strikers that have never played above league 1 level. If there was 7m to spend why waste it in that way? Relegation is nailed on i am afraid.
11 August 2019 at 7:39 pm #180298Not nailed on but Cook thinkers too much and doesn’t learn .

What a journey!11 August 2019 at 8:22 pm #180301Think we missed Pilkington yesterday. He had a good second half against Cardiff and showed plenty of energy and desire.
Jacobs and Byrne were poor, especially their passing (even short passes failed to reach a Latics player).
Having said that the defence was at fault for the first two goals, Cookie was right to point out that the Ref made Garner leave the pitch, prior to the corner that lead to their first goal. Thus we were a marker short in the box. I wouldn’t really blame Marshall; he actually kept the score down with two cracking saves.
The only positive for us, was Williams. He looked sharp and hungry when he came on for Jacobs.
Still a point better off than I thought we would be after two games.11 August 2019 at 8:58 pm #180302People wetting their knickers over spending 7m on 2 strikers that have never played above league 1 level. 11 August 2019 at 9:11 pm #180303So what team for Tuesday then….
11 August 2019 at 9:35 pm #180304Oh…..and Naismith at C/H ,Christ…..Swap Neil for Cook anyone!???Last week the Preston fans were screaming for Neil’s head for his “rubbish” team selection which cost them the points at Millwall. So, I think I’ll give Cookie a chance to see if he has learned his lessons before I start thinking about swapping him!

Very nice. There is a thread currently going on this board asking where all the old posters have gone. Let me tell you categorically that it is YOU that is the reason nobody posts any more. What a scumbag way to respond.
JR no i am not just a Latics fan making a prediction. Is that allowed or should i say we are going to finish top just for the sake of saying it?
Otter if i was in that situation i would have gone for proven championship level players. I don’t think we are in the position to be taking big gambles like we have. Exciting as it is that money has been spent i don’t believe it has been done correctly. In the other areas i think it has been done well in defence etc but the absolute key area is up top and i just honestly don’t believe that Lowe and Moore will get enough at this level.
Anyway, first log on for years and after the warm welcome i got by VAT i will not bother again and head back over to Vital. The other thread was bemoaning the fact that there is no reasonable debate on here any more. Well i can offer that but it seems VAT and JR and people like that just want a closed shop. How do you expect people to come on here when you welcome them with vitriol.
11 August 2019 at 9:47 pm #180306Don’t let them stop you….all opinions welcome whether posters agree or not, that’s what makes forums.Cup winners and myself were berated constantly last season for daring to be realistic, but that’s what it’s all about…..I don’t hold any grudges.

Just a couple of points. 1) Lowe is a winger 2) Moore has had 2 spells in the Championship. So I don’t know why you claim we’ve spent 7 million on 2 strikers with no experience above League 1.

Shut the door behind you and keep the noise down. Take your relegation nailed on opinions back to vital they are not wanted here after just 2 games.

Still a point better off than I thought we would be after two games.Fair point, if we’d drawn both games a lot would be saying “two good points there, good start to the season.” But we do actually have 3, so all is not lost yet.
With the money we’ve spent, our expectations have naturally risen, and weather we like it or not, Cookie will have to deliver or he will be out.
