If Massey starts than that simply means no Lowe. Did we wait all that time and pay all that money for him to be back up to Massey.
I thought Williams had en excellent game. Agree that Lowe was knocked off the ball easily at times, but in the 2nd half especially he showed what he’s capable of in flashes. Emberokhare seemed very raw and naïve but there is a player in there. When he got it right he looked a big strong fast and powerful lad, but he was shattered when he came off. Sterling didn’t have the best of debuts, but similarly he seems big and strong and hopefully doesn’t take long to adapt to this level.

The problem is the present system and transfer window. Every club waits till deadline day then goes mad. Ideally new signings should be in place for pre season. Contracts should end last day of season not end of June. Also change the transfer windows to ensure business is done in time for pre season instead of January and July. Even if it means having 3 shorter windows instead of the present 2 month long windows. I’m sure we will be ok once everybody has got to grips with each other and Cookies tactics.

At present every game is like pre-season. I guess some players are still not match fit but still no reason to play Lowe on the left ahead of Jacobs and Naismith and on Saturday Jacobs on the right ahead of Massey and Lowe. When we have a left back Naismith shouldn’t be playing left back and surely we have enough midfielders who should be playing ahead of Audrey. Moore too needs the time on the field. So far he hasn’t started. Some strange stuff goes on.

Williams had a good game that was up to about the last till the last 15-20 were he was out in his feet. I’d say he’s a good few weeks behind the rest of them. He stopped chasing things down late on and everytime the ball went out of play he was bent over double gasping for air.Against a Leeds those last 10 – 20 will be the most important.
Stirling isn’t strong enough. He’s alot if filling out to do and at times looked ruffled

Blackburn again spent little and Tuesday another 1 nil win with another clean sheet to boot. Puts into perspective how poor we have been in last 4 games. Need something at QPR or he’s in real doo doo and I for 1 cannot see past a comfortable home win.

They also signed Stewart Downing and my Blackburn supporting colleague says they are paying him in excess of 20 grand a week. So don’t worry they are spending plenty. The same colleague also says every game they’ve played has been dire and that the clean sheets have been more by good luck than design. This fan isn’t by any means a doom and gloom merchant.
