13 August 2019 at 4:19 pm #180349… and David Unsworth has exactly how much Championship management experience? I hope we don’t go down that route since it could be another Warren Joyce all over again and set us back a good few years!
Quite agree apart from being caretaker manager for a spell all his experience is with the kids at Goodison but it’s a murmer that won’t go away. To me it would just be a job for one of the boys. We will be running out to the Z Cars theme next.
13 August 2019 at 5:00 pm #180350Where do these murmers come from as I’ve never heard them aside from on here.
13 August 2019 at 6:35 pm #180351Where do these murmers come from as I’ve never heard them aside from on here. There are loads of guys on Riverside egg with Everton connections recently we had a coach on doing summat with the kids. Now whether they are putting 2+2 together I’m not sure but a mate of mine who is Everton potty is adamant it’s true. I hope not we have enough of em already at the club and I want Cookie to succeed. 13 August 2019 at 6:52 pm #180352Anyone with half a brain should know unsworth does not have a good management track record. Given a choice between unsworth or cook, I know who I would rather have.

Given a choice between unsworth or cook, I know who I would rather have.Like egg I’ve not heard it anywhere else other than from Evertonians. And like yourself gimme PC anyday. Perhaps they are hoping one of their own can upstage a Red and will see it as a strange victory for the peoples club.
13 August 2019 at 8:00 pm #180354I’ve only ever heard the rumour on here. My mate is the most die hard blue you could ever find, and he has never mentioned anything.
I have also heard that David Moyes is lined up to take over. I can’t see it.Mere talk of it is disrespectful to Paul Cook, and I don’t like the putting down of David Unsworth either. He played a big part in us retaining our place in the Premier League, in his short time with us. I think people forget.
He has done a sterling job as Everton Youth Coach, but I do think people may be making too much of our Everton links. I firmly believe Paul Cook is very much liked by all the powers that be.
14 August 2019 at 12:15 am #180369Its in cooks hands.he got to do a lot better away from home.this season a poor away form like that he will get potted.
14 August 2019 at 12:37 am #180371Pissing around with team selection and playing players out of position rather than using the depth of the squad and slotting players in and out of the side into their natural positions will be Cooks downfall.
14 August 2019 at 1:18 am #180373Absolutely……bite hime on his arse this time thats for sure .
14 August 2019 at 1:47 am #180375And he has just gone and done it again tonight.
14 August 2019 at 1:51 am #180376It could be third defeat on satday.i reckon he on his way if he dont get it sorted.
14 August 2019 at 2:11 am #180379It could be third defeat on satday.i reckon he on his way if he dont get it sorted.Well, he has laid all his cards on the table with that busy transfer window. He has to show that he is the man to bind those signings together successfully.
But if he doesnt do that, he has set himself up for a fall.Personally, I’m not that bothered we have gone out of this cup. It comes too soon in the season for me, and we have bigger games to play. Saturday, for one.
14 August 2019 at 2:42 am #180381And he has just gone and done it again tonight.Well he did say he was going to do before the game.
14 August 2019 at 10:30 am #180389There were some positives to take from last nights game. I thought Lang worked really hard and never gave up. Jones Mulgrew and Dunkley played well but I thought Stirling struggled along with the lad from Wolves.
I personally think the right back position will be a thorn in Cooks side.
Is William’s a holding/defending midfielder ?. At times it looked like a back 5. He was sat far too deep to have any kind of an impact in the game plus he struggled fitness wise.
But that was a super strong side Stoke put out for an EFL game littered with multi million pound players. We probably had the hardest tie of the night so I’m quite happy with the overall performance.
Saturday will be one tough game but I’m sure if we match them for effort it will be a far closer game than most pundits see it.14 August 2019 at 12:23 pm #180390There were some positives to take from last nights game. Saturday will be one tough game but I’m sure if we match them for effort it will be a far closer game than most pundits see it.Its interesting how we all see things differently. I thought the lad from wolves had a decent game. Lowe as well, but he’s pretty lightweight & was knocked off the ball a few times. I thought sterling did ok – but he ain’t no James sadly. Glad to see Massey back & he should start Saturday. I wondered if that is why he came off in order to be rested?
Lang worked hard, but really wasnt given any service. Jones was once again solid (bar one flap where it almost came out of his hands).
Overall it was a decent performance as you say. But their goal came from our usual flapping at set pieces.
