20 May 2017 at 5:52 pm #159140Vat your moaning about paying £269 but if you wait until the week before the season starts you will pay £299 can’t believe how sum people think £269 – £12 a game £299-just short of £13 a game still not bad but you will still have a moan at that and reason it’s had to go up we now have no parachute payment to keep it down I bet you didn’t moan last season saying it was too cheap
Parachute payment this year is the money we got from Yanic.
20 May 2017 at 5:52 pm #159141Don’t get the kid issue. If you want to sit on the half way line your going to pay, simple. I moved from the East to the South last year for the offer and I’ll be back in there again. If you’re going in the south the bar is easier and the kids can be with loads of other kids doing what kids do. They’ve enjoyed it this season despite the crap football.
20 May 2017 at 6:05 pm #159143I’m in that hard-core who has been gang since we had 3000 at Springfield, but even I am, reluctantly, going to have to think about things.
It’s a shame, because when you support a club…it’s what you do. You go the game. But I’m just not sure the increase is worthy of how we are at the moment and how we stand as a club. I also think it madness the prices are out and yet no manager in place and a bit unsure what players we will still have. Or will we all fork out and then sell Powell and Morsy on the eve of the season? And replace them with frees from Oxford and Chesterfield, and an 18 year old loan from Leeds?Club is very slow at everything…except trying to get money off us. New kit? Not a dicky bird. Friendlies? Not a whisper. Other clubs think ahead so much better.
Are you going next season Dave, or what?
The suspense is killing me.
At this moment in time, I honestly don’t know. I think anybody with kids who doesn’t want to sit in south stand is being penalised.
To anybody calling me a moaner, I will say that if your some sad bastard with nowt in your life other than football, paying £300 for a ST isn’t bad at all. However, if you have a couple of kids you are having to buy for as well, and in total 2 adults and 2 kids and it’s coming to £800 it’s a different story.
I have no desire to sit in the south stand again, it’s dire and I’d rather not bother. It’s a shame, as it will be my 32nd year of watching Latics. If we do get one, it’ll be week before season and not being rushed into it. I would like to know our manager and squad before forking out that kind of money.
They should have just frozen the prices and avoided this. Never heard of a club putting prices up after relegation. We will have bad bad crowds next season, I am sure of that.
Sympathize with you VAT as i myself don’t want to sit in the South cos it’s dull. So will have to pay for the youngest too but a price increase was inevitable. Young Sharpy made a mistake reducing season ticket prices so much in the first place, he must have panicked i think.
But if he’d have frozen the price of them for the last 2years we’d be paying more or less what we are now which still aint too bad.20 May 2017 at 6:07 pm #159144No it’s not that might just pay for the squads wages for next season
20 May 2017 at 6:16 pm #159145Vat your moaning about paying £269 but if you wait until the week before the season starts you will pay £299 can’t believe how sum people think £269 – £12 a game £299-just short of £13 a game still not bad but you will still have a moan at that and reason it’s had to go up we now have no parachute payment to keep it down I bet you didn’t moan last season saying it was too cheapRead my post again, as I’ve said, if I was just buying my own… £300 wouldn’t be bad at all. But it’s going to cost me £800 for 2 adults and 2 kids….that’s where the problem lies.
And why oh why should I be pressured to meet a deadline? Cheeky bastards this club.
Yeah, definitely wait until manager is revealed and let’s see what players we have come August.
Anybody rushing down to buy at this moment has to be a bit of a pleb or in the “I’d go at any price, me!” Thick Wiganer class. To some, the club can do no wrong. Ha! You’ll think so, come August when crowds are about 8000. Look how far we’ve come……rolls eyes.
20 May 2017 at 6:40 pm #159146Still don’t get why it has to cost you £800, it surely costs you £500 if money’s an issue. £300 more if money isnt an issue and thats your choice.
Better seats in any entertainment arena (term used loosely) cost more.
I’m happy at £249 for us 2, as are my mates, all who used to sit in the east. It’s not like the East Stand is like the yellow wall at Dortmund.

There is a gabby prick in the south who did nothing but laugh and joke about us being shite all last season…trying to be funny all the time, when it wasn’t a time for humour. That stand was nothing like it used to be, just no atmosphere and sat amongst people like the aforementioned and had two old coots behind me as well who I ended up having words with an all. I’d sooner sit somewhere else…preferably right at top of East Stand…back row if possible.
20 May 2017 at 7:15 pm #159152All clubs have a deadline but if your happy to pay more money to wait then don’t moan about prices

You are there again Dave, I’ll be getting mine next week and please don’t call me a pleb, I am a loyal fan who supports the club not the manager or individual players. Is it so hard to understand?
If you are buying a season ticket and don’t take advantage of the early discount, just cos they’e set a date, then its you who is the fekin numpty.
I don’t give a shiny shyte who buys a season ticket as long as I’ve got mine, neither should you.
By the way I’ve seen you leaving the ground on several occasions last season and its just been you and another geezer. B)From Matlock to ManU

21 May 2017 at 2:22 am #159168Players are going to go, we’ve no manager and yet and they want me to pay £269, I’d have to be stupid to pay that, yet I know on the last day for renewal I’ll be renewing .
21 May 2017 at 4:43 am #159171I’d have to be stupidIf the cap fits…
21 May 2017 at 5:12 am #159172I’m fine with the price increase for adults. Last season was a one-off (whoever heard of a club reducing season ticket prices after promotion eh?)
But, I don’t agree with the kids’ prices.
We have a small fanbase, and even in our own town we are competing with Man U, Liverpool, Wigan RL etc.
At 9-12 years most kids are forming loyalties towards football teams. Capture them at that age and you capture them for life. Fail to capture them now, and they’ll be wearing United shirts at The Black Bull in front of Al Jazeera Sports on Saturday afternoons in a few years.
The club should be doing everything to capture those kids.
By all means put the adult prices up in the West and East, but offer free tickets for all kids under 12 in every stand, and if you want to create something in the South Stand, heavily discount the adult tickets in that stand.
I’ll be getting my lad (and possibly his mate) a season ticket in the West Stand. I’d prefer not to pay £69 a ticket, but he’s hooked, and in the South Stand he wouldn’t get to sit near the benches, or to run down to the tunnel at the end or annoy people like Griff and Sammy at half time.
So I totally understand what GL and some of what Vat are saying (apart from the bit about waiting to see who comes in. I’ll be there no matter what).

I think it’s people who don’t have kids who aren’t seeing the problem, standish.
Another thing is, I can see.there being a lot of midweek games and forking out on kids season tickets when they will probably miss a few games is one of my problems with it.
The adult prices are FINE, I’ve no problem with £300. But I am not being cajoled into.the south stand due to the reasons I’ve said, mainly my dad’s eyesight…he struggled to watch ‘down pitch’ last season.
It would be good if someone put it to the club about extending the kid goes free, or a lot cheaper deal, to ALL stands.
Let’s capture those kids again. Only about 4 years ago, we had the biggest percentage of.young supporters to home fans ratio in the country. We’ve lost a lot of that. My youngest, 8, is going on about United more and more and his school have already tried to entice him to rugby league…free warriors tickets and coaching sessions etc. Flip! I don’t want that to happen!!!!
What I would like for my season ticket deal: adults? Not a problem. £300 is very good. We want to sit top of East Stand, maybe ES5 or 6, 2 adults and 2 kids. I’d be happy paying up to £700 for all of us. But anymore is too much.
If someone can mention the ALL stands kids idea to the club……
