Well done lads!
How many people actually come on here these days its like flogging a dead horse
25 June 2018 at 12:55 pm #169807Floggi g a dead horse, no there is a teenage memory from the sex pistols. Another great first half performance yesterday, doesn’t matter how bad the opposition is to be 5 up was fantastic.
25 June 2018 at 3:33 pm #169810To be honest, i thought that England played much better in the first half against Tunisia than they did against Panama.
Not complaining about the result one bit but the zip, chasing down the opposition & neat passing that carved Tunisia open in those first 45 minutes was missing yesterday. I appreciate that the stifling heat & humidity may have played a large part in that but we didn’t create anywhere near as many chances yesterday as in the first game.
I also worry slightly that out of 8 goals scored, only 2 have come from open play & one of them was a jammy deflection. If we play against a team that can actually defend a corner without fouling they may struggle to score. That said, for the first time I’m enjoying watching England at a World Cup with no expectation & I think reaching the quarter finals should be considered a success for them

And they conceded goals in both games against poor opposition! I like the fact that the expectation levels are rising fast which means bitter disappointment rather than pre-acceptance of failure! ha ha
26 June 2018 at 7:12 pm #169834TBF, the goal against tunisia was a soft penalty.
26 June 2018 at 8:39 pm #169835Nice to see the National team do very well for a change. To be honest though we would be very disappointed if Latics hadn’t beaten either of them. But that’s the difference the England side didn’t trip up against the lesser sides this time they won comfortably. May be a good sign for the rest of the tournament.

And the square yedded sausage munchers have been scintillating NOT. Whilst I don’t think we can win it I haven’t seen a side yet I would be fearful of playing against. As usual the Brazilian loving media have been having orgasms at the sheer thought of the Samba kings and they have hardly played any decent football Argies are terrible for some reason the sunbed savers have a real problem against a decent attack and the Kermits have just bored the living shite out of every body. The Mexicans and Croats have been the best outside Englands group so whoever we play they are not gonna find it easy as has happened in the past. C,mpn England.
26 June 2018 at 10:29 pm #169838The French are quietly going about their business and are my tip to do well.
27 June 2018 at 8:34 am #169840The French are quietly going about their business and are my tip to do well.Argentina next for them though mutt so one of the big boys are going out. They have been lucky up to now and it would be just like the Argies to turn up after struggling to get through the group stages.
27 June 2018 at 10:28 am #169841The group stages are like warm up games. The real stuff is about to start. The Germans, French, Argentinians etc will show their true worth from then on. Hope our pampered Greed League lads continue their form and dont revert to true form from the last 16.
27 June 2018 at 10:50 am #169849You’re right there. England have scraped by Tunisia and thumped the worst side in the competition, yet some people are now calling them potential winners. If they make the quarter finals, they will have met my expectations and get a “Well Done Lads”.
27 June 2018 at 11:25 am #169850I fear for our defence when we come up against a decent side.
27 June 2018 at 12:31 pm #169851Unbelievable, the negativity on here is staggering did you lot actually see the Kermits against the Aussies the Brazilians against The Swiss and Costa Ricans they were piss poor. England have done a better Job than most of the fancied nations that’s why we are already through and they ain’t. Like I’ve said France play Argentina next and its looking likely that Germany could face Brazil in the last 16. All I’ve heard is England haven’t played anyone and we will struggle against a good side well guess what so will all the others. FFS give them a bit of credit and lets see how far we go. Its been a long time since England had a decent tournament maybe this could be that tournament. C,Mon England
