Shower of shite that shows England have no strength in depth. I’d expect nothing but self deluding optimism from this forums resident tank top and slipper combo wearing cretin LOL

I think you are over-reacting. As donny said, it was a training session for the reserves of both teams. And TBF, we were beaten by a very good goal.

Finishing 2nd could work in our favour.
What the actual F**k are You or Donny (I don’t care to brutally honest who said it because Your both singing from the same BS Hymn sheet) talking about? This is not a training session FFS this is the WORLD CUP FINALS…..Sheeeeeeesh LOL

I’m still waiting for Tank top and slippers man to rattle his cage :silly: ;)

The Belgians were accumulating yellow cards for fun at the start of the game and Roberto,s reaction to the winning goal made me think they did not want to win that game. Had we been remotely arsed about losing it then Kane would have come on at some point.

Bob, to confirm, i have never sang from donny’s hymn sheet. However, on this occassion, i agree with him.

Usually the aim of a football match is to try & win it. Last night, both (RESERVES) teams tried NOT to win it. And i for one am convinced rashford missed his chance on purpose.

If southgate was that bothered about it – he WOULD have brought kane on & maybe two or three others.

Belgium now in half with Brazil, Portugal, France, Argentina, Uraguay and Mexico. I,ll take the loss last night based on that.

Everybody knows that 2nd place was the better result. Belgium tried to win the game they said and rested 8. We tried to win it we said but left our best players on the bench.

Bit like that time United went out to win the game against West Ham and respect the Premier League blah blah blah reserves, lost, weren’t arsed.

From the way some of you are talking it sounds like you have gone all ‘Arsenal’, happy with a top 4 finish! Hats off to Belgium for choosing pride over caution, it is that sort of attitude that wins silverware, good luck to them!

Leave the World Cup talk to those of us who support a Country that’s still in it.

You can go and discuss things with the Scots, Welsh and Irish amongst us who have f*** all better to do this month.

:P

Belgium did not prove pride over caution fil did you see Bobbys reaction to their winning goal. He was hoping and expecting a draw so he would finish second and keep face.

It doesn’t show that there’s no strength in depth at all – what it shows is that if you make 8 out of a possible 10 outfield changes & put together a team that hasn’t played together as a unit before, that the performance will be bitty & disjointed.

Latics put out a scratch side in competitions this year & we lost some of them – it didn’t mean we didn’t have strength in depth just that making that many changes means poorer performances.
Strength in depth in a squad means being able to handle a couple of injuries or suspensions & when Latics had those the team did fine. Just as England will

the only worry for me was that our first choice keeper looked shaky at times

I don’t have an hymn sheet Runcs. I’m just an awkward get who doesn’t go with the flow and happy claps every move the custodians of our great club make.
I welcome back Bob on the moon and Bullit too has they too can offer something different without going down on one knee to the powers that be. Super Stu and JR can do their stuff too in creating something to talk about despite having their own opinions.
On this subject though there’s a bit of it all. Yes it was a training session for the second string and yes it shouldn’t be in a World cup but it shouldn’t be in our domestic competitions either but we have to accept that nowadays that’s what’s done. As a second string they were pretty naff too even if it was a dead rubber. Those players should have been busting a gut for a place but for most of the game they were as insiped as Bob’s reserves.
Anyway in matters a little more important Whose going to Ibrox?

The lads on the pitch certainly celebrated the goal! I can imagine what is being said in the Colombian camp right now, something along the lines of “They have disrespected us thinking we are easier opposition, let’s show them what it is like to fear a team” A case of be careful what you wish for and a very slippery banana skin if you ask me! :P

The French are quietly going about their business and are my tip to do well.

Argentina next for them though mutt so one of the big boys are going out. They have been lucky up to now and it would be just like the Argies to turn up after struggling to get through the group stages.
They weren’t lucky today – they played very well. I wouldn’t fancy Portugal or Uruguay to beat them either.
