27 June 2018 at 3:00 pm #169854You’re right there. England have scraped by Tunisia
Bit harsh that mutty. I personally thought they battered tunisia, but just couldn’t take their chances.

Spot on Runcorn we completely dominated Tunisia and could have had six against them as well. Its ok for the others to struggle to beat the dross they will just get brilliant instantly but not England. But if we do progress deep in the tournament watch the back trakking from some on here.
27 June 2018 at 4:24 pm #169856Calm down man. We’ve looked excellent going forward, but if you choose ignore what has looked like a shaky defence against lesser teams then you do so. It may well be that we get better but from what I’ve seen so far a big defensive improvement is needed. I’m just not confident about that.

I’d just like to point out that I have been impressed with how England have played – when a lot of people were criticising the Tunisia game I said we’d played really well 1st half, got done by a silly error from Walker & then had to face a Tunisian side who packed everybody back & sat on the 1-1 that they had. When a team does that it’s hard to break them down no matter who you are as Belgium found out against Panama in their 1st half.
Against Panama we never looked in any danger & took our chances – thoroughly professional performance bar one switch off late onMy comments were more tempered with a realism as to how far the team can go. I think quarters at least but we can’t escape from the fact that out of the first 2 games England created the 2nd fewest chances from open play – against sides who can defend set pieces well & without fouling we’ll need to create more chances that aren’t fashioned from set pieces
I also agree that by the same token i haven’t seen a side that England should be overly worried by – Germany have looked poor, Brazil have looked poor, Argentina have looked poor, France looked okay but nothing mind blowing, Russia struggled against the first decent side they played. Ditto Spain & Portugal. Uruguay, Colombia & a few others have blown hot & cold. Croatia have looked the best so far for me

Well done lads!
Fuck the EFL
28 June 2018 at 2:47 pm #169900Correct me if I am wrong but could the winners of Group G meet either Brazil or Mexico in the quarter finals whereas the runners up in Group G could be on for a meeting against Sweden or Switzerland? Anyone think there could be some own goals tonight!

I have a friend out in St Petersburg who has a ticket for the next game.
He thought it would be Germany v Brazil.
It’s Sweden v Switzerland. :D28 June 2018 at 3:27 pm #169904Correct me if I am wrong but could the winners of Group G meet either Brazil or Mexico in the quarter finals whereas the runners up in Group G could be on for a meeting against Sweden or Switzerland? 29 June 2018 at 1:06 am #169931Colombia next on Tuesday, beatable, (Japan)
First defeat in 12 months, not bad at all that, a few teams would swap places with us, rather finish 2nd and progress than be on the next plane home!
Good luck on Tuesday, well done lads!
Fuck the EFL
29 June 2018 at 1:13 am #169932Gave some fringers a bit of game time, keep the pack happy. No damage done, so keep off the negatives if you can boys and girls.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!29 June 2018 at 1:42 am #169933No negatives really. It was a dead rubber from the kick off. An extra training session for the reserves really. Treated like the league cup by both managers.
Just a shame for the traveling fans.29 June 2018 at 1:59 am #169934Shower of shite that shows England have no strength in depth. I’d expect nothing but self deluding optimism from this forums resident tank top and slipper combo wearing cretin LOL

I’d expect nothing but self deluding optimism from this forums resident tank top and slipper combo wearing cretin LOLI think you are over-reacting. As donny said, it was a training session for the reserves of both teams. And TBF, we were beaten by a very good goal.
Finishing 2nd could work in our favour.
