Was he “made up like” ……….? :)
Yes we were poor but we didn’t lose.
I don’t understand how you can be so negative after one game – that you didn’t even see.
Worry if we get nothing at Charlton or Cardiff !! :)
He may not have seen the game, but he is spot on with his analysis.
We will get better, I am sure of that, so lets keep our chins up and move on to the next game.
I hope we don’t get any worse. B)

I was sort of aiming at young players who have been ‘Bigged Up’ and gone on to obscurity rather than stardom! Who remembers Jody Morris? Another promising teenager who went on to nothingness!Jack Rodwell will be the next.
Overhyped powderpuff.
I see that Jack Rodwell has now departed Man City and gone to Sunderland. I seem to remember big things being said about him and his future when he was at Everton so what went wrong? Who else would you add to this thread in recent times?
Jimmy Bullard, Jason Roberts,Pascal Chimbonda and Wilson Palacios.
All thought that their careers would be improved by leaving us!!
All achieved nout !!!
Bullard did well at Fulham, even got into the England squad, his demise only started through injuries, Jason Roberts did as much at Blackburn as he did with us including doubling his salary, he was doing ok at Reading as well until he again suffered a long term injury, Chimbonda and Palacious have had as much success if not more than the did with us and earned a substantial amount more than they did with us.
So they were all probably right in “thinking that their careers would be improved by leaving us” there is nothing saying that their careers wouldn’t have gone downhill or they would not have suffered serious injury had the not stayed with us.
Like I said. Achieved nout !!

On a more serious note it looks like this afternoon we bloody well were rubbish. :(
Once again a thread decends into a crock……………..
Have you also forgotten the collective groan of disbelief when he strolled up to take that 1st penalty ……………..???
. At least he had the bottle to take one.

So did Ron Vlaar !!!!!! B)
Gary Caldwell IMHO was a great defender.
That finished the post for me.

Yep good luck to him but I for one won’t be shedding any tears
Won’t be getting ours until January this time.
Can’t afford it.Too many outgoings at present. :(
Something has to give and this is it. We’d miss 2 home games anyway due to the holiday which also had to be paid this month.
I’ll be picking my games up to Christmas then getting a half year come January.
All that is wrong with the English game, the premier league and their paymasters sky.
30 mill for any of those overated failures is pathetic and 100k a week for a teenager stinks.
Scrap the Premier League today and lets start to build our national side again.I fully agree with you.
The problem is the Premier League. They don’t give a toss about England. All they want to do is milk as much cash out of Sky and BT as they can.The FA are just really concerned with paying for Wembley – still !!!!
The other major problem is the fact that non of our top clubs has an English manager so they don’t give a toss about England either. I would be interested to know how many youngsters in the big club’s academies are actually English.
That plus the poor technique and lack of big game experience of many of the players – how many have played in the Champions League – mean we’re stuffed for years to come really.
Come on Greece !!!!! ;)
I felt really sorry for Iran yesterday.
A real flashback Crespo moment that one.
We can’t be irritated by the football. There have been some great games so far.
However every team has better technique than most of the English players – a major irritation in my eyes.
Optrex anyone?? :)
I think we can add ITV as a whole and the majority of the BBC pundits are World Cup irritations.
I would exclude Lee Dixon, who now works for ITV. I find his comments intelligent and interesting.
I’m fed up with Andy Townsend, who would always have done better than the present players manage to do.
Why do they have to be in a studio overlooking Copa Cobana Beach? Look at the money they would save if they were still in a Manchester Studio or London in the case of ITV. Complete waste of time.
As for Townsend. My Mrs on Thursday – ” Who is this Townsend guy? He talks a lot without actually saying anything”!!
