Well if he is pulling up trees or not at Man Utd he has still done better for himself, we are only in october and there is plenty of time for him. I remember everyone calling ronaldo shit when he first went to utd. Probably Bainsey, Arry and i would say Roy Carroll, Okay he has dropped off now but he aint a youngster any more and he did have a good few years at Man Utd as the number 2, Let’s face it number 5 at man utd would be acceptable
No way will Rodallega be allowed to leave. It’s quite clear how vital he is to us and now even Uncle Dave has a grin like a cheshire cat at our current squad and management. I just get this warm and homely feeling about the place these days. Didn’t think i would be saying that this time last year. This current crop we have seems to have been won over by Martinez’s obvious man management skills and i don’t think big dave will break it up unless Roberto gives his express permision. Now we had something like this when Bruce started out last season and it went pear shaped, Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes. The money WAS good last season and isnt a huge priority any more. In my opinion we only lost 2 good players lastseason, Palacios and Valencia. Cattermole for me was distinctly average, Just an over rated hot head who wasn’t afraid of a challence and i feel Palacios has been well replaced. He has been replaced by 2 players and at least Thomas has one advantage over him, He can shoot. Diame is more refined but very good at what he does. Looking forward for tomorrow and sorry for the essay, My fingers get carried away when i start.
I wouldnt read too much into it to be honest. That rumour has done the rounds for a couple of months and its only a wikipedia source so any owd sod could have altered it.
Yep mee too, He is a legend here and is one of the big names in our history books, He could make Darlington a good championship club with the facilities he has there. Unfortunatley he has to do it himself as they dont have the resources we did. With his contacts he could make a huge impression there but time is a quality thing in football as we know from his first building season. I wouldnt be surprised if Mr. Ellington and Mr. Teale make loan moves there. Good luck Paul

I have no problem with the bandwagoners as long as they stay on when things are going bad. Also not everyone quite new to Latics is a bandwagoner. There is young fans who have come at a time when we play at a big stadium in a big league, It’s not their fault. I bet about 2,000 have died since the mid nineties who went. Shall we wait until everyone has snuffed it then open the gates for new fans.

Over to you!Im 24 and been going since 93, I should crack my dad for not impregnating my mother earlier, i buy a home kit every year, (i love taking them abroad), i have a season ticket and have had ever since i was unable to sneak into Springy Park in my youth, I did go pre-whelan but only by a couple of years, i remember the attendances and as for going head to head, i must warn you i have a very extensive knowledge of global football and as far as head to head on intellect goes you have already been beaten.
Aye but at Springy Park there was 7,000+ cheering and chanting in a small area that crated a lot of noise, It’s different now of course with the big stadium and open sides with fans sitting all over the place, The odd pocket of chanting appearing in each stand. As for being the worst fans in the Prem, Speak for yourself, I love my club and have done ever since i was a nipper and i am wed to them, So speak for yourself because i aint in your league pal.
I sat chekin sky throughout the day yesterday,the wife thinks ive got OCD cos I check teletext every night before I go to bed.
The fact is that we are now in the premiership,I for one when I stood in the cowshed,then got me season ticket in the Phoenix stand,never,EVER,considered we would be here.
When Whelan took over he said we would be in the Prem in 10 years,he delivered to the day, almost.
I do hanker sometimes for the old days,but they are gone,we can no longer chat to the players when they warm up,players are aloof.
They no longer play for the shirt/club,they now have agents who actively encourage players to move,so they all get a bung,even legally sometimes.
The fact from my point of view is that football has changed.
If we get relegated,it wont change,cos the good old days have gone my friends,even the championship players now drive Bentleys .

Bobby loves this club,and will do his best,if we go down,its part of what makes football what it is,I will still buy me ticket,and still check me teletext every night.
I love my club,and thank Dave Whelan for investing in it.

Good post that man, It’s not all doom and gloom, Remember how many points we had when The Prodigal Elephant took over and where we were and what time of year it was. When this current run of tough games is over you won’t even post on here you lot. Loss of face you see to the anti-boys. Or even if we beat West Ham you will still drop you’re spuds. Im raring to go from it. We may not need anyone else, who knows. At least this way the players don’t have to get used to anyone else new to training and trying to figure him out and understand his language. Oh and on the thing about bentley’s, agents, money and Burscough, My mam lives in a vilage in Burscough and Shaun Teale runs the village pub. The shift of money since the nineties has been astonishing. Check wikipedia for the old players like Mickey Stockwell e.t.c and see what they do now.
