    Manchester United 2 Wigan 0
    Bournemouth 1 Wigan 0
    Leicester 2 Wigan 0
    Zulte Waregem 0 Wigan 0
    Manchester City 5 Wigan 0
    Watford 1 Wigan 0
    Blackpool 1 Wigan 0
    Charlton 0 Wigan 0
    Rubin Kazan 1 Wigan 0

That makes nine away games without a goal. That’s not just bad luck.

    Next up, Yeovil.

    All will be revealed shortly.

Wigan have made a long, tiring journey – but Kazan travelled to Vladivostock last week.

Owen Coyle has made five changes from their weekend game against Huddersfield. Stephen Crainey, James McArthur, Roger Espinoza, James McClean and Grant Holt all come in with Emmerson Boyce, Chris McCann, Jordi Gomez, Nick Powell and Marc-Antoine Fortune dropping to the bench.

Then Wigan have the long flight to Bristol for the Yeovil game. Teams are vulnerable when they return home from European trips, and especially in away games. I thought Coyle might take more young players as substitutes and spare some players the long journey.

We don’t want to play the Bantams again.

Your description recalls the two objectionable and inconsiderate lads sitting behind us at the Cup Final. They did their best to spoil a great occasion for the unfortunate families in front of them. You don’t suppose…no, I hope not.

Pathetic – there have been some very poultry contributions.

There is one problem – we find it difficult to score, especially away from home.

    Manchester United 2 Wigan 0
    Bournemouth 1 Wigan 0
    Leicester 2 Wigan 0
    Zulte Waregem 0 Wigan 0
    Manchester City 5 Wigan 0
    Watford 1 Wigan 0
    Blackpool 1 Wigan 0
    Charlton 0 Wigan 0

    Perhaps we’ll manage one tonight.

At least half of the league games vs teams above us – while Burnley only have to play teams below them?

    in reply to: Kazan #123227

    Twenty players have apparently travelled to Kazan;

Nicholls, Pollitt, Crainey, Shotton, Rogne, Boyce, Garcia, Perch, Barnett, McCann, Watson, Gomez, McManaman, McArthur, Espinoza, Powell, Holt, McClean, Dicko, Fortune.

Beausejour is injured. Apart from Albrighton and the junior staff, all the fit players seem to be making the long journey to Kazan and back to Yeovil.

Saturday’s win over Huddersfield has lifted us into the top 10 in the league and … we have a big opportunity to close the gap between ourselves and the playoffs which currently stands at just 4 points (we also have a game in hand) which is a better position than some of our performances deserve.

In contrast, I would agree entirely with this statement.

Kazan looked a superior side to me, but Wigan played bravely to match them. However, it is expecting a lot of Wigan to come back from Kazan with a point or more.

I must say that in the Kazan game, I thought that Crainey looked absolutely terrified whenever the ball came his way. But Perch deserves a rest before Yeovil and we’ve seen precious little of Garcia. Still, Garcia has a three year contract, so he may make an appearance sometime in the future.

He didn’t earn his Judas tag – you invented it.

Who has your unequivocal support now – Owen Coyle or the Burnley fans?

The former Clarets boss ran the gauntlet from 5,000 travelling fans at the Reebok. Owen Coyle hit back at Burnley’s furious fans by telling them, ‘You should call me Moses, not Judas.’

There debt has risen from 22mil to 54mil

    That’s nothing to crow about.

I hope I win the National Lottery but that’s not likely to happen either.

Only if we hatch a good plan.
