Meanwhile, the Latics fans have only been kept awake by the noise of managers arriving then promptly departing at the DW.

Everton have lost just one game this season – at home to Manchester City. But if they had beaten Manchester City, they would be top of the Premier League.

How that would have upset the Bobsessives!

Good luck to them and can we just let them get on with it and put our energies into supporting the players we have here now.

They’ve left – let go of them!

But we will still be allowed to ramble on about former managers, won’t we, Horc?

The point being that Rangers are not the team people on here are making out.

Extraordinary – what a lot of passengers Waghorn and Tavernier are carrying!

As St Johnstone’s work-rate dropped, Rangers found greater purpose. Nathan Oduwa skipped in from the left, past two defenders, then skelped a shot off the crossbar. Tavernier then did the same on the right, but finished by rifling the ball high into the net.

This was a reminder of the tactical and organisational nous of Wright and the extent of the work that remains to be done by Warburton. Rangers have not met a side of this hardiness or cleverness in the Championship and the hosts ran aground.

Rangers may well be superior to most Championship teams, but there may still be a considerable gap between them and the Premier League.

Just for the record; Morton 0 Rangers 4 Waghorn 3, Tavernier Attendance: 7,392

The sides had contrasting fortunes in the League Cup in midweek, with Rangers’ 100% start to the season ended by St Johnstone. Morton were buoyed by an extra-time win over Premiership side Motherwell.

Oduwa was felled in the box by Ross Forbes after jinking in from the right, and Waghorn rolled the resultant penalty into the corner. Barrie McKay picked Waghorn out in the box, and he was allowed the time to turn the ball onto his left foot before firing into the net.

A short free-kick was cleared by Tavernier, who raced the length of the pitch while his team-mates moved the ball swiftly from back to front, before striding into the box to finish a polished move. Waghorn, though, would not be denied his hat-trick. Tavernier’s cross was met by the head of a Morton defender, but it fell kindly in front of goal for the 25-year-old, who fired into the roof of the net.

    Back at what is now called the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium;

In fact it was the 45th minute when James Tavernier’s rocket from the edge of the box was tipped over by Dumbarton goalkeeper Mark Brown to register Rangers’ first proper shot on target.

    Attendance: 1,978

Two more for Waghorn today. Huws a clever boy?

You’re confusing us with people who actually give a fuck!!
Rangers are playing week in week out against teams of part timers akin to Bamber Bridge, of course they are going to win and the likes of Waghorn should and will get a pan full.

Can’t you read – this is the Tav and Wags thread!

    12 September 2015 Rangers 3 Livingston 0
    Wallace, Waghorn, Law Attendance 44,832

Rangers, fuelled by the guile of Nathan Oduwa and the lively front play of Waghorn, dealt Livingston a decisive blow five minutes from half-time. Oduwa was involved in the build-up, Waghorn holding up the ball and rejecting all passing options to work his way free and precisely angle a low shot beyond Jamieson.

Queen of the South 1 Rangers 5; Attendance: 5,858

Sad times in Scotland. Of the 8,690 capacity, there are 3,377 seats. The “coo shed” on the east side of the ground was replaced by an all seater stand in 1995 and was named the East Stand. A challenge game was held in April 1995 to commemorate the opening of the new stand and Queens’ 75th anniversary against Rangers.

And McManaman and McClean are getting playing time at West Brom too.

They may not be one of the better Premier League teams, but they are still above Championship – and League One – level.
