£13 million and a sell-on clause? I don’t think so.

Anyway, McCarthy has just signed a five year contract at Everton.

McArthur – not so highly regarded but doing better with Palace.

Martinez knew where he himself would be come the end of that season and so with hindsight it is no surprise that Stones swerved coming to Wigan and went to Everton! He didn’t play at all until the following August when Martinez was manager, you do the math! :)

It’s a conspiracy!

Mark my words those 2 will do well and Rangers will have nothing but good things to say about them. Oh and before anyone says Scottish football is cack and 3rd division standard, that’s what division we’re in and they would have made a big difference this year. We’ve made 1 good signing and made several bad sales.

Scottish Challenge Cup

Hibernian 2 (Stanton, Cummings) Rangers 6 (Tavernier, Waghorn 2, Halliday, Miller 2)

Well, they got off to a good start yesterday.

Hibs, after they settled down, were generally superior to Rangers last season. After 11 departures in the close season, Warburton has had to rebuild the Rangers team.

Fyvie was playing for Hibs.

The BBC report;

It took a moment of individual aplomb for the team to regroup, with Tavernier sweeping a free-kick into the top corner from the left edge of the penalty area.

Moments later, the full-back impressed again as he slipped a pass through for Jason Holt, whose cross was converted from close range by Waghorn.

The goals changed the dynamic of the match and Waghorn struck again just after the interval, his shot bouncing into the net off Hibs goalkeeper Mark Oxley.

Easter is giving him the benefit of the doubt.

More like OBC….

Out Before Christmas – and that was 1 year 10 months ago!

What is it with Leyland and Lostock Hall?

We’re going round in circles.

But on Saturday 19 December, we’re going to Barnsley!

Euston to Brentford – Tuesday 28 April

Victoria line to Vauxhall Underground Station 10 mins
Walk to Vauxhall (London), Vauxhall Rail Station 11 mins
South West Trains to Brentford Rail Station 26 mins

Departs 22:34
Arrives 23:22
Total time: 48mins

Departs 23:05
Arrives 23:52
Total time: 47mins

Catch the first Victoria line tube train from Euston to Vauxhall – then the next South West Trains service at Vauxhall Rail Station. 11 mins for the walk between the Vauxhall stations seems generous.

More options available on Transport for London Plan A Journey website.

Remember – you can now pay for your journey with a contactless payment card – a new VISA card, for example. The fare is the same as with an Oyster card. Just touch in and out at the start and end of your journey.

Fair enough – it is simpler! On Saturday, there is a South West Trains service every 15 minutes from Vauxhall to Brentford.

From Euston to Brentford (Zone 4)

Victoria line to Vauxhall Underground Station 9 mins
Walk to Vauxhall (London), Vauxhall Rail Station 11 mins
South West Trains to Brentford Rail Station 26 mins

Departs 10:04
Arrives 10:52
Total time: 48mins

Say 10 minutes walk to Griffin Park.

For an adult single fare, use CONTACTLESS PAYMENT CARD to pay same low fare as using Oyster card.

Single fare – changing between London Underground and National Rail at Vauxhall –
Oyster or Contactless card Off Peak: £4.20

You must touch your Oyster or contactless payment card on a yellow card reader at the start and end of your journey. If you do not, you may be charged a maximum fare.

Don’t get us wrong; we worship Roberto as a Latics Legend, but his positive blinkered stubborn approach eventually took us down. I personally thought that he would be the perfect Chaiman & Ambassador for our Club. Great player, nice fella but misguided as a football coach & Manager. He may have lead us to victory in some great games, but then had his worst game of all against Swansea when it mattered the most.

It’s the Bobsessives who have the blinkered view! Roberto was hardly to blame for Wigan’s position.

While other clubs were increasing their spending dramatically, Martinez was required to reduce Wigan’s wage bill by 22%.

He had the smallest squad in the Premier League and, on top of that, a long injury list. For the Swansea game, Ramis, Alcaraz, Figueroa and Beausejour were all missing, and Caldwell was clearly not fit to play.

Wigan did not have sufficient resources to compete in two competitions – the Premier League and the FA Cup. Memorably, Martinez took his patched-up team to Wembley and won the Cup.

Wigan could not defy gravity forever, and the inevitable duly happened.

1300 up! How much further can Bobby take us?

We’ll be in good company – we could be going to;

Fleetwood
Rochdale
Oldham
Bury
Crewe
Port Vale

Everton bolstered their squad whilst we did the complete opposite! ;)

Who with?

Their two big signings were Barry and Lukaku, who were previously on loan.
By signing them he bolstered the squad surely?
They were both in the squad the season before.

By signing them he kept the squad the same surely?

in reply to: How Long Before “Bottom Four Bob” #141454

41 points now, so Everton are safe this season.

How are our junior rivals Swansea getting on without Bob?
