Think you’ve got the wring bloke mon or your paranoid
i am sorry for getting the wrong bloke it seems i should have aimed this post at blueview, but i admit to be paranoid, but when people accuse me of being a bully for speaking out against a man bringing MY club to its knees i think my paranoia is somewhat justified.
It was me you had the deal with, at no point have I accused you of being a bully though ! You have your opinion, I have no problem with that. We were very disappointing yesterday, no-one can honestly say any different, I would have loved to see the look on your face after we beat Liverpool though – had you gone to the game, that is.
Morrissey – Alsatian Cousin – Turf Moor – Burnley.
Punjabi MC – Beware – Reebok stadium – Bolton.
If we win at Bolton will you join loudmouthblue on the Douggie bridge starkers ?
I look at our results and although we’re nowhere near being Liverpool, I see similarities, Rafa can’t get results week in, week out in the Premier league but can win the Champions league, we can’t always beat opposition around us but turn it on for Chelsea and Liverpool.
If I’m to have a go at Martinez it comes because of what Scharner said last night “we have no plan b”, at times it’s necessary to go route one and be direct, managers like Big Sam know how to get results when survival depends upon it and I think Roberto could do with having that plan b at times, Spurs away being the prime example.
I will start by pointing out that there were a number of us who were not only responsible for the banner but stand by what was written on it.The facts are that this squad of players is easily the best we have ever had. Look at Birmingham, Fulham, Stoke and Blackburn and tell me they have better players than us. We find ourselves up to 12 points behind some of them and unable to record a single victory against any of them (For the record I have paid good money to see all seven games). We have conceeded eight more goals (with pretty much the same back five as under Bruce) than we did in the whole of last season and there are still ten games to go. The facts are that under Martinez we are unable to defend even though he sets us up with one up top and at least one holding midfielder. Apart from a wonder goal from Scharner against Stoke the performances offensivley against Bolton, Stoke and Spurs (to name a few recent ones)were just inept.
I take foolsgold point, but no-one supports the players as much as I do. It is the managers inability to see what is happening and his ineptness to make decisions to impact on the game that brings me to the decision that he is just not up to the job. Numerous times this season he has just changed players like for like when a change in the system was required.
Tini, for the record I had not left and neither had any of the people I was with. We all clapped the players off which was fully deserved.
As for James C, I have been watching Wigan Athletic for 33 years. I remember players like Noel Ward, Peter Houghton, Joe Hinnigan and Colin Methven to name a few. I have been to Brighton, Bournmouth, Torquay, Barnet and Aldershot amongst other remote parts of the UK. I wont even get started on pre season trips to Holland.
Loudmouthblue points out the facts and they are alarming to say the least. Theres no point bleating on about beating Chelsea and Liverpool (Both of who never turned up) and then getting rolled over 4-0 at Portsmouth etc…etc…
As for standish walkerman you will be delighted to know I am sure that I have played semi pro and used to get paid for turning out half baked on a Saturday. I know ex-pros both in business and personally who I know share our views on Martinez. If you think this squad of players is good enough to fight out relegation along with Hull and Wolves then I am afraid it is you that is the idiot. And what is Xenophobic? It sounds like a playstation game that you clearly spend all your pocket money on.
Finally,I must point out that I love Wigan Athletic. I have never booed them and would NOT condone anyone who did.
You’ve never booed them and would NOT condone anyone who did – you claim at the start of your essay that you are partly responsible for the banner, you may as well boo pal !
Caldwell’s not had a mention but some of his early challenges got Torres wanting to be somewhere else.
Ta, do the reserves get relegated if they finish bottom ?
I know it sounds a bit of a daft question but I’m not sure if you’re in the Prem reserves, then as long as the first team remain in the Prem, you continue to play other Prem reserve sides. They’re a bitter bunch arent they…..still at least ESPN made them believe Wigan’s a rugby town, hopefully some Latics fan put them right on that urban mythJust watched the first half again and Joe Royle says “some people still regard Wigan as a rugby town”, which is true, some people do, the majority don’t.
Whelan’s comments show that he is still firmly behind Martinez, as fans we all want things to happen overnight but in reality it doesn’t work like that, we’ve got a decent squad and I hope we’re good enough to stay up, I’d love to have a trip to Europe one year.
Reserves tonight. Not a bad start to the week by all accounts. :DIs there a report somewhere, who scored ?
Yip, I was the one holding the banner. My mate rang me on my mobile because he noticed that someone had started a thread on here. You must have felt a bit silly after the game, didn’t you ?
Please don’t bring the banner to Bolton.
Can I tempt you to join loudmouthblue naked on the Douggie bridge, selling Cockney Latic and wearing an “I Love Roberto Martinez” placard if we win at Bolton ?
Are the club going to pay for him to have some drumming lessons !They’re going to follow up my brass band idea from the other day, call it a grand Dave and we’re straight.
Funny how not too long ago pretty much everyone on here was saying Martinez out.
I ask all the haters one thing, which other Latics manager has beaten a top 4 club?
Martinez has beaten 2, so it isn’t a fluke.
as i said once before on here-
I ask all the martinez lovers one thing, which other latics manager has been beaten 9-1,or 12 -1 aggregate v spurs or 10-0 v united or 4-0 against the worst team in the league or a – 27 goal difference -0r getting hammered 3 times in a season by teams from lower down
martinez has overseen all those ,and like you say-it isnt a fluke.
You didn’t actually go last night though, did you ?
Koumas has had countless chances to impress and always failed to deliver, Gomez might not have shown much yet but deserves the same opportunities Koumas has already had.
I bet he’s not on a quarter of Koumas’s wage either, biggest waste of money to ever pull on the shirt. -
