As I said earlier, I believe Managers involvement differs depending on who they are and the clubs they’re involved with, we disagree and I can handle that, not sure that giving my opinion automatically makes you right .
You need to go back and read your messages, you tried to say you knew exactly who does everything regarding signings, contracts and clauses, I won’t resort to calling you silly names though .

I think some Managers get very involved in signings and like to know exactly what they’re getting, how likely it is they will lose them if they have buy out or relegation clauses etc .
Why didn’t Roberto take the Liverpool or Villa jobs, on the face of it they’re better jobs, particularly Liverpool, maybe it’s because he would have had very little to do with signings and he didn’t fancy that .He as good as tried to get us knocked out the cup until the quarters when we maybe did get a glimpse of the genius he’s supposed to be, time will tell but he had 4 years with us before failing to get Swansea promoted, this really is old news though . My problem is with the way he’s treating our club now !

I take it you agree with the likes of garswood then, he’d have us believe that Martinez has virtually nothing to do with signings & contracts, must have been Whelan who fancied raiding Swansea then, apologies all round I stand corrected, It’ll just be Kenwright who took a shine to Kone too .

Martinez had an agenda, he promised Swansea when he left them that he wouldn’t raid their players, he went in for about 4, he only cares about Roberto Martinez and will one day have an excellent career in politics as I have my doubts his talents are in football management, talks a good game though .Whelan could look into suing Martinez as he appears now to have been very underhand, if he rated Joel & Alcaraz so highly, why weren’t they given Wigan contracts ? Who wanted the fairly low buy out clause in Kone’s contract, was there an attempt to get rid of the clause ?
I’m sure people will have a moan that Roberto’s being mentioned again, however looking at these signings it really does beg the question, was Martinez working his last 6 months with Wigan Athletic’s (the people paying his wages) best interests at heart ?
