Yesterday will go down in the history books and rightly so, the biggest thing for me now is consistency. We play Hull next and will probably be odds on favourites, so we need to make sure we dont let our standards drop. Man City after that, give anything to see them lot leaving early again.

Also with regard to Palacios etc, the first thing they did was give everything. Chasing down the ball and if they lost it running around nome stop to get the ball back. That’s what made these players fans favourites, none of this years signings have done that.

Most of what you said was wrong, but with regard to Heskey you’re spot on. I could not and still can’t understand why we let Jason Roberts go because he wanted more money, then spent £5m on Heskey and paid him more. We are trying to out do the stupidity by signing a championship player with a broken leg for £4.5m, but at the moment that’s the most stupid.

Only one problem, wages. He was getting 50k per week at County, Whelan wouldn’t give him half that. He has already stated 25k is too much for us to pay, so forget Sol Campbell. Although he could be in to charity work and sees us as in need, never know.

Oh no I don’t believe it, I’ve just wet myself! HaHa

If we couldn’t beat one of the top four with the quality managers and players we’ve let go, this bunch of lower league trash marshalled by an inexperienced boss and coached by a bloke who has been sacked at every club he’s been including us have not a hope in hell.

I promise, if we win I will celebrate by giving you £100. I will also promise never to question blue eyed posts on here. By the way, I wouldn’t worry about needing headache tablets Sunday morning. lol

Don’t be upsetting the blinkered brigade. You should go to watch Latics even if you have just had a heart attack. No matter how bad we are and how depressed you are made to feel, you should still be there. In fact, you should be watching the reserves home and away and if you use the Gym, you should switch to DW. You will still not be a proper fan until you take a solem oath always to wear blinkers. lol

If we can get £50 for Figueroa from Sunderland in January then we have done well….positionally suspect, distribution terrible, no ability to overlap and inject any attacks on the left, looks totally lost…I just struggle to see exactly what he offers??? What am I missing….?

                      Edman must be garbage..

Dont worry, if Whelan can sell he will sell. :(

                        Have I missed something?

Did Steve Bruce go to Newcastle and not Sunderland?

He didnt go anywhere, because when Sunderland expressed an interest Whelan turned them down flat and told them they could not speak to Bruce. He did the same with Cattermole as well, stands his ground does Whelan.

Larry may be about 4, but I reckon Whelans a definite 10.

Whelan will be splitting his sides.

Some of Whelans comments get better & better.

I’m not aware of him making any comments recently. These are all being resurrected from the past (and frankly I’m getting VERY bored with all of these posts now – the word “obsessed” springs to mind) so the quoted sentence is rather a strange one.[/quote]

Not aware of him making any comments recently? Head and sand, know what I mean?

You really don’t understand business, do you?

You really don’t understand that football IS a business either, do you?

Football is a business? But Dave Whelan quoted, ”football is not a business, you dont take over a football club to make money”
                              So whos telling fibs? (again)

” one day we’ll be in the top flight, playing against the best teams in the land….”

Possibly one of his best quotes that was laughed at just 14 years ago.

”Wigan Athletic will have a £30m war chest”

No one will ever forget that quote.

Whelan wont be in the country now, sunning it in Barbados and leaving Bob to take the flak, the nice chap that he is.
