Another spanking for the so called biggest RL club in the world by little Widnes :lol:
The measly crowd booing at half time less than 11,500 on for a Super 8s game at the DW Stadium (make that 6,500)
At one point little Widnes were down to eleven men and the slutch rats couldnt get a point on the board, referee Bentham was superb tonight.

I know all that Horc but is it really necessary to rip the squad apart two seasons in a row? Some of the lads shown the door have only been at the club a few months, i would have preferred four or five new signing adding to what we had and keeping the stability and not creating any upheaval.
Last year i was all for the massive changes to get rid of players that obviously didnt want to be at the club, there was no reason to do it again especially in the Championship, i reckon after last seasons success with a brand new squad it will be very hard to emulate this time around in this league, it seems we are pushing our luck!

And by the time these misfits gel together we may be well and truly in the shit, then we have Mr Swappenchange that would find it hard to pick the same team twice in a row with only eleven fit players.

To be fair we were in this situation last season with a completely brand new team. This season seems no different. This season is about consolidation in this league. If we finish one place above the relegation places, i for one will be content, then we can build for the future. The trouble with some fans on here is they want a quickfix return to the premier league.Sorry guys, but it wont happen this season.
If my memory serves me right didn’t Sharpie/Caldwell say at the beginning of last season “we are building for the future” when we got rid of more or less an entire squad and recruited an entire squad?

I guess it could be Jussi in the goals. Garbut or Byrne for left back but what about Warnock.
Burke at Right back. Morgan and Buxton as central defenders. Perkins Power Gilbey Wildshut in midfield. Jacobs and then Grigg.
Powell Gomez McDonald Hunt LeFondre Bogdan etc on the bench.
Seems simple enough but guess someone will have to play out of position to accommodate another defender.The midfield and front two look good, so Caldwell wont pick it, knowing yon mon it’ll be anything but!
Yep Jussi in goal for me, and the defence well owt can happen, maybe draw straws.

No, we are exactly the same, too many new signings once again the squad ripped apart this season for the sake of it is the only difference, i just hope Caldwell doesn’t think we can emulate what we did last season.

Hang on a mo Runcorn didnt we have the same like like posts this time last year, regarding consolidation and building for the future?
Why do we go through the same process over and over again, other clubs our size manage to consolidate others don’t i would put us in the “others dont” category at the minute!

Just had a quick browse on one or two other Latics sites, some of the numpties comments are unbelievable!
Quite happy with the ins and outs the past couple of days, top half finish, one mon actually said “we needed a clear out and we needed new faces” At least reading some of that bullshit seems to have cheered me up after yesterdays debacle. :lol:

We’ll we have two right backs and two left backs. An extra striker but we have the job of building up team spirit and momentum. The squad is now a mixture of established and untried. Would have been much happier in keeping Morsy Colclough McCann Pearce and playing them alongside a few new faces over the last seven weeks or so and keeping up the momentum and team spirit that was there at the end of last season. If we had struggled and these players had not made the grade then we could have shipped them out and brought a few cast offs and loaners to replace them in January. It just seems that the way we have done things will have totally changed the atmosphere in the dressing room and could be quite disruptive. I haven’t got a clue if we will be any stronger at all so I am not over happy with what as occurred since last season ended. Change for changes sake and momentum stopped.Totally agree Donny, nail on the head that post!
