European football would impose an enormous burden on Wigan.Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City can all field different teams in midweek games. Even with their relatively large squad, Newcastle are struggling in the league this season, just as Stoke and Fulham struggled before them.
Wigan simply do not have the resources to compete in both the Premier League and the Europa Cup. It’s not something that I would welcome.
Not in years have i read such twaddle on his forum and believe me that`s some achievement with some of the whoppers on here. A burden for who exactly ?? The chairman who has dreamt about this for years and ploughed out all the money he has ? The manager who loves his club and is probably the proudest man ever to manage us in my lifetime ? The supporters who have been there through every miserable, horrible,gut wrenching moments that football has to offer,those fans who chipped in to save the club,those fans who helped pay players wages, those fans who always fought to save the club,those fans who have gone home and away almost every week and those who go as much as they possibly can ? I`m sure the legends of the club like Jackson, Sudworth, Horrocks the list goes on would be spinning in their graves if they heard such nonsense, they would be looking down on us with pride, pure pride seeing their beloved WAFC play a European tie. Don`t you dare ever label a European qualification a burden on anyone. If it`s aimed at being a burden on the players then I`m sorry but if we did qualify then those players should have the same pride as the afformentioned supporters would have just by playing for a WAFC team in Europe. I couldn`t care a toss if we never won a game, being there is something beyond my wildest dreams

Bandwagon ? I started going on 10 years ago and if that is deemed as jumping on the bandwagon then so be it ! I apologise for not going to Goole away and for purchasing a season ticket for the last 9 years I bet the likes of Dave Whelan hate the fact that the fan base has grown to circa 13000 eh !Don`t know why you always bring Goole up . You’ve never even been to Gillingham :woohoo:
