Most clubs nowadays use the 1 up front. If the service is poor then you’ll struggle. We could get Ronaldo and he’d be lucky to knock Dunkley off the top of the charts.
The way we set up on a match day then use subs says it all. At times we’ve 6 along the back and we still concede 2 a game.It’s not about 1 player up front it’s about 11 players across the board.
The Dingles play with two up top and both scored at Old Trafford tonight We need to follow suit and at least go down shouting and for once in a very long time entertainilng. Oh and a proper wide player in the mold of Wildschutt.
Naismith is not a defender contrary to what Cook thinks. Replace Robinson ? I don’t think so. Naismith’s turning into our pollyfilla player. Our recent goals conceded speaks for itself.Good luck to Robinson if he goes I don’t blame the lad. He has been the only shining light in this seasons mess.
It would be interesting to actually see Kal playing as a left winger or as a left sided attacking midfielder. It’s a shame that Robinson hasn’t had a decent left sided player to link up with. Maybe it’s worth a thought however it’s Cook we’re talking about.
Evan’s and Morsey are about as boring as you can get. I can only imagine they play to the orders of Cook.
Negative, slow, boring and safe the pair of them. A total lack of creativity both sh1t scared of moving forward or moving the ball forward. Some call it “holding mid” I prefer to call it “fookin useless”.Like I said, theres lads on a park tomorrow who can do that pass sideways and back.

Jewell would have been sacked in his first 6 months if whelan hadnt given him a contract for whatever reason he chose to. Instead he backed him with funds to buy a championship standard squad in league one. Jewell failed in every other job.[/quote]
Our greatest ever manager who played the most exciting football I can remember in all my years watching Latics. We played like you would see a warm up or warm down on the training ground.
Sad thing was Bristol were no great shakes either but like it’s been said the set their stall out, waited and then were clinical in how they finished.
But Williams is a defensive midfielder,Dowell isn’t needed, Windass is an attacking midfielder and Lowe is such a terrible waste of money and so out of his depth. Pompey skimmed us there.
