I’m sorry but I don’t agree. It was unfortunate that Williams got sent off but two yellow cards is two yellow cards and if the second is right in front of him, what can he do?
The ref could have given penalties at both ends and booked more players on both teams, Morsy escaped two very reckless challenges without a card. I didn’t think the ref favoured either team. Its a shame a very good competitive game was spoiled for us on 20 minutes, but that wasn’t the refs fault, Williams shouldn’t have reacted to get sent off.

Think we missed Pilkington yesterday. He had a good second half against Cardiff and showed plenty of energy and desire.
Jacobs and Byrne were poor, especially their passing (even short passes failed to reach a Latics player).
Having said that the defence was at fault for the first two goals, Cookie was right to point out that the Ref made Garner leave the pitch, prior to the corner that lead to their first goal. Thus we were a marker short in the box. I wouldn’t really blame Marshall; he actually kept the score down with two cracking saves.
The only positive for us, was Williams. He looked sharp and hungry when he came on for Jacobs.
Still a point better off than I thought we would be after two games.Fair point, if we’d drawn both games a lot would be saying “two good points there, good start to the season.” But we do actually have 3, so all is not lost yet.
With the money we’ve spent, our expectations have naturally risen, and weather we like it or not, Cookie will have to deliver or he will be out.
2745.Its not just the away fans mutty!
By the looks and sounds of it a lot of people missed yesterday’s match. I did too because I’d promised to paint the kitchen.
So now whenever I go into my newly decorated kitchen I just know I’ll forever associate it with a 3-0 defeat to Preston.
B****** football!
B****** decorating!
B****** of a weekend!Their getting screwed over left right and centre but great news for the administrators, they could swindle another million out of this.
It’s desperately sad for the fans of both Bury and Bolton. I know I’ve poked a bit of fun at Bolton in other posts but I really feel sorry for their fans if not the club.
There is an official petition going around for independent regulators in football, it needs to happenNo! We can’t sign him, it’ll ruin my sums!
We could do with another defender tho
To sum up
8 – 8 = total number of Bolton season ticket sales
80 + 8 = average weight of 8888
0 + 8 = number of Latics signings so far
£8 million – £8 million = amount of money spent by “Football Vultures” so far
0 + 8 = number of Latics seasons in the premier league
8 + 0 = Chinese lucky number, also wealth and prosperity
8 & 8 = Latics top scorers last season
8 = number of pie and pastry products I’ve eaten since Mr Crusty appeared
8888
8888? Is that a row of 4 rugby fans?
:) :)
This is a great forum; there is some good quick wit and repartee. In actual fact it is in honour of our new owners and shirt sponsors. I’ll be hacked orf if that extra guy who said he wasn’t going now changes his mind.
I would have joked about “fat ladies” but intelligent people might have been offended!
I agree we should be looking to consistently playing like last Saturday, and better. We haven’t spent the money for nothing and most of the team are looking to improve their game under Cook.
Last Saturday wasn’t even our strongest team.

Bet you spent more than “football ventures” this week gg

Can we guess the Bolton crowd for Saturday?
50,000
Not like them to exaggerate their number of fans.If he aint scored after 36 seconds against Preston on Saturday then send him back!
Seriously, a very exciting signing, how much have we spent in the last week?
