I bet today’s game wont linger in the memory for too long !
Instead of trying cocky quips fill why not add your FA Cup memories ?
Surely you have some good cup memories from when we were a lower league team facing the big boys ?
Seeing as I have only been a season ticket holder for 10 years I am afraid I don’t !
You lot make me laugh do you not read the local papersPublished on Thursday 3 January 2013 09:30
ROBERTO Martinez will seize the opportunity to ring the changes for Saturday’s FA Cup visit of Bournemouth after admitting the festive programme eventually got the better of Wigan Athletic.
Latics concluded their Christmas schedule with a 4-0 thumping by Manchester United on Tuesday, which came just three days after arguably the best performance of the campaign at Aston Villa.
Four games in the space of 11 days was always going to test one of the smallest squads in the Premier League – particularly with injuries and illness also biting.
And the Wigan boss hopes some players who haven’t been starting of late will be looking at the visit of the Cherries as their chance to play their way into his thinking.
“The players are all approaching this run of games with a very positive attitude and they want to make an impact to help the team,” Martinez acknowledged.
“Ronnie (Stam), Jordi (Gomez) and Callum (McManaman) all showed good signs when they came on against United.
“But overall it was too much to ask of the squad to compete over 90 minutes with a United team full of quality and, more significantly, fresh legs.
“We have been able to take the opportunity to freshen our midfield combination up in the last week.
“James McArthur was rested at Aston Villa and David Jones was given a break on Tuesday because he was suffering with a virus and had to take antibiotics.
“We needed to share the demands of that midfield partnership, and over the next few weeks hopefully we can keep refreshing players in a big point in our season.”
Saturday’s line-up should include the likes of Stam, Gomez, McManaman, Fraser Fyvie and Mauro Boselli, while Angelo Henriquez is in line to make his debut after joining on loan from Manchester United.
Tickets remain on sale for the FA Cup third-round tie, with fans reminded that only the Springfield Stand (reserved seating) and the Boston Stand (unreserved seating) will be open.
Southampton haven’t exactly got a big squad and they came out of the Xmas period ok ! Other sides also didn’t do too much squad rotation, this Xmas excuse is straight out of the Arsene Wenger book of whinging ! :cheer:
Did you leave half way through :silly: :silly:
No because I was enjoying it and I didn’t feel cheated out of £13 ! ;)
£13 was you perched on a wall at the back
It was less than that as it was 1980 ! ;)
I was tucked up nice and warm in front of a roaring fire having some quality time with my Son…Priceless ! I am surprised that fans keep giving RM the benefit of the doubt when it comes to cup games ! Take a leaf out of my book and give your family some quality time when it is a cup game, you will feel so much better inside !
Filmoss from what i read you won’t be there or will leave around half time ;)They’ve sold about 1700 with pay on the day surely we’ll have at least 5000 bothering to turn up to watch the new lads for a tenner?
Thought as much about the abandoned game. Cheers.
I hold my hand up re the crowd ( Not that it was that much better ! ) but I am so glad I stayed at home and didn’t waste a tenner plus petrol and sundries on what turned out to be a non starter by all accounts ! I hope you die hards will be making the trip to the South coast ! :)
I bet today’s game wont linger in the memory for too long !
My Gran used to ask ” what’s a norse? ” whenever I mentioned an equine ! Always picking me up on stuff like that !

You are right, I wont be bothering ! I have a season ticket and feel I can go and leave when I please ! It’s all about prerogatives you see ! I shall be back on here tomorrow, either to hold my hand up or say ” Told ya ” Our cup record under Bob is nothing short of atrocious and so I made the decision to stay well away ! ;)
Did we not play these men in another orange ball game and it get called off after about half hour? There was about 20 of em in the shevvy shed.Tomorrow it will be 12 degrees, it now floods instead instead of snows, we’ll be seen as a potential scalp so they’ll bring 2000 and 7000 att will be seen as a shocking crowd.
I cant see there being 7000 on !
We are set for a triple boost as Ryo Miyaichi joins new boys Angelo Henriquez and Roger Espinoza for Saturday’s FA Cup tie with Bournemouth.Sounds like it could be a better team than the first 11 ! ;)
A point against Dulham and a home win against Blunderland and it will be all on again.
keep positive plenty of other clubs sweating and always a comfy one that drops in -my tip Norwich.Couldn’t you think of a daft rhyme for Norwich, then? ;)
Horwich ! Home of …Well you know who ! ;)
should we get 6 pts from them we will be in a much better position
And should I win the lottery jackpot tonight I would be considerably richer! :cheer:
Grand scheme of things ? Points difference between us, Fulham and Sunderland ? It doesn’t matter ! Strewth !
N.RAMIS and CRUSAT.IWigan said that these are private messages to their families.
I would have gone for “Hi Mum” ! :cheer:
