1. Why should Martinez have changed it up to that point? We were playing well.
2. How did Mancini’s subs change the game? I disgree with Phil’s post that they stretched us. We played well up to the two goals, and there was little change after the goals. They hardly ‘went for it’.
3. How do you know where is no ‘Plan B’? (Football Cliches: volume 1) Managers make constant adjustments throughout a game, so unless you see players charging around swapping positions or a sub or two, how do you know he hasn’t changed anything? What do you think Martinez and Jones are shouting and demonstrating with their hands from the touchline?Let’s see if you can answer without swearing.[/quote]

How anyone can say we have the least racist fans in the country defies belief? I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve heard the “Town full of P***s” chant. Although maybe those that did chant it have started to become a little (not much) more subtle, hence the “Engerland, Engerland” chants at the Bradford match.I rest my case !! :)

So Johnny, who would have as right wing back ? For me Boyce has looked confident playing in the back 3 and Stam has injected some much needed pace to our right side and does put in a hell of a lot more crosses than Boyce ! Something will have to give when the back line are all fit again !
I’d deliberately left that bit out Phil, because I honestly don’t know!
I like Boyce playing there because he’s much more defensive than Stam, but Stam is considerably better going forwards. Likewise on the left, Beausejour can put a good cross in – as he did on Saturday, but he wasn’t great last night and at times his first touch was worse than mine. Figueroa looked good going forwards at times last night. He has pace and can hit a ball, but he is prone to silly mistakes and being caught out of position.

To any brain dead idiots who don’t understand my post,I am making a generalisation of young fans today ! The West Ham incident prompted me to mention that it is not only West Ham fans that do idiotic things like that ! I know stuff like this has gone on for years but obviously the longer it goes on then the chances are that the perpetrators are oblivious to the sensitivity of the matter ! Oh and as for not being racist, I was at Birmingham a couple of seasons ago and couldn’t believe my own ears at some of the racist chants coming from our end !

Shearer and Hansen and both agreed that we played well ! It was there for all to see just how our back line was indeed pulled out wide for both their goals !

McCarthy would run at Stam and after passing through Stam’s bandy legs and ending up behind him he would be able to take him from behind !! Whoo err !

The changes were made to add some width and to drag our defence out wide. This worked because both Barry and Milner had all the time in the World to get their shots in due to the void that was created in the centre ! As for using the words ” Current champions ” it would appear that we don’t accept talk like that any more at this club as this quote from RM states ….”We’re not happy to lose to the champions with a good performance. That is no longer acceptable to this football club. We’re disappointed.”

At the end of the day not many of us expected to get anything from the game anyway but Kone and Al Habsi do need to work on some basic things in training ! If Al Habsi hadn’t made that mistake who knows what might have happened ? If anyone is going to take the blame for chucking away 60mins worth of hard graft then it must be the man between the sticks simple as !
