I reckon Bristol fans will be up in their droves; they’ll be making the most of an opportunity for a weekend away in Wigan.
But but but – three guys ended up sharing the million because Forest equalised.
If the penalty had been saved then three people would have had hard luck stories.“For the greater good”!!
I know 5 of us who’ll be there. I asked when I bought my ticket, and was told ‘several hundred’.
It’s designed to stop the situation whereby an assistant flags for a penalty/foul that the ref is looking at and doesn’t think is a foul – the ref’s in charge & all that. It is a proper pain as a ref when your liner starts flagging for stuff that isn’t in their area of credibility (usually from the touchline to the penalty area & an imaginary line up to half way in their half)At the level I got to every single ref will say don’t flag for any appeal for a penalty unless I look at you and ask. We weren’t mic’d up so in those circumstances it has to be a flag although some just ask you to nod or shake your head so it looks like they’ve given it.
From ref’s I know that run the line in the professional game they say that at that level virtually every ref will tell them that they’re there for throw ins & offsides and nothing else. Some have even had refs shouting down the mic not to give anything for incidents happening right in front of them!!
Thanks for that. It’s great to get a more objective account. I just know I’m always right, but to hear it from a ref himself does put another useful perspective on how some decisions are made.
I do think the FA should introduce a rule whereby no one except the captain and manager are allowed to communicate with the ref, and only during a game. All this mass goading and hounding is done for only one reason, and it must make the job of the ref even worse. Hassling the officials as they leave the pitch at half time is also rubbish. Fergie only ever did it for one reason and it often worked.
That’s what I reckon anyway.
But thanks TL. An interesting insight.

That is exactly what time it was when I made my prediction ……
p.s. anyone know how many are going to QPR so far. How many can be expected there??
The East stand looking bare I have to say.I wasn’t there.
2 1 Latics. We should be pretty safe if Watson is taking corners.
Yes, it’s the defence in Fleetwood that need to be on their toes, ready and waiting.
Late entry – 13025
What a fantastic assist & effort from Rooney this one is.https://m.youtube.com/results?search_query=wayne+rooney+dc+united+assist
Actually, you know what … I think Powell’s at Villa was better. He was surrounded by about 4 or 5 Villas, he casually and with style and panache dinked, dunked and danced his way around them, put an inch perfect cross in for through another swathe of defending Villas, for Connolly to convert with perfection.
Rooney just had to kick it across the pitch for his mate to nod it past a dodgy ‘keeper!!!
Any way the American league is about our Div 1 standard.
Well Grigg was no great shakes last Saturday and he does lack pace at this level I reckon. Hope I’m proved wrong !!!Lack pace??!! He fair shot out of the blocks aka Usain Boltlike to keep the ball away from Kyle Walker. No dawdling there. But I don’t know if that was Div 1 or Prem level.
I noticed you making a beeline to the lady and handing out gifts ;)I’m heading straight for you next time …. I don’t want to be accused of favouritism!!
Gibbon was a class above today keep sober and out of prison and he can be key to our season
Robinson was lightening and excellent defender he must of been close to pushing Baines out the best left back we’ve had since him.
Keep picking points up I’m optimistic we can achieve a top half this season. Was he funky as well?[/quote]
