I’m on my way to the playoffs. CELEBRATE, C’Mon!! First point I’ve ever scored, except in my depression questionnaire where I got 86. I was so pleased, and then I was told that low was good, high was bad. Since then I’ve avoided points, and I’m still not sure if I am any happier!!

Edwards is my mentor. I’ve been looking over his shoulder. What I do know is – he is wrong.

This maybe the first and only time I am “top of the league”, but I doubt it, never having yet scored a point!!

You will all of course seen that in true time honoured fashion I am following “The Science” as prescribed by our erstwhile leaders.

The statisticians and those doing the modelling have pointed out that after Wigan’s recent experience, the rising of the Phoenix from the ashes and Covid 19 the first gate will be a biggun.

Following the East Stand rule of thumb by most accurate estimation is based on the date of the first game 120801. 14 08 21. To say we’d have 12 08 14, as in 14 08 21, would have been simply stupid.

Hello friends, I’m not sure whether I should be taking part in this any longer as we now live in New Zealand. We are hours ahead of you, which of course means that I will always know the gate before you lot have even got out of bed. Occasionally I may throw in a few duff ones just to send you all off the scent.

First one though, I’ll play fair. Rotherham

12801, but because covid is still hampering travel, I wont be there, 12800

I hope you guys are all well, safe and healthy. You know what, I actually do miss my Wigan days out with you good fun folks. Thanks.

I always liked Max. Enthusiasm, energy and passion count for a lot. When he did score goals he made sure they were always good ones, bring him back, and whilst we’re at it bring back Perkins. They both played well together.

The only thing I didn’t like about Max was at Fleetwood. He gave his shirt to the guy standing next to me, so I asked him if I could have hius shorts, and that was about as fast as I’ve ever seen him run! I failed there, so when DW came across I asked if I could have his tie. Off he went as well. Miserable sods.

At Man U why didn’t they turn the pitch sprinklers on?

I wonder how many of the first team have been offered a job next season if we stayed up, and what kind of bonus they were offered? 10 days in Bahrain when the borders open in a posh palace?

Doesn’t matter to me – it worked.

Blinkin good fans, in my experience.

The best achievement done, in UK professional football terms, with nothing or ‘on a shoe string’.

Leam for Manager of the Year. Another amazing chapter to add to the Wigan story.

                        INCREDIBLE, actually.

Thanks to everyone, including fans, for making it happen.

very crowded. 18 on the pitch at times.

Ash was a great fans / club link. Well, for me at least. For all he did I thank him very much. He was my link, via Kath, to do ‘Goal Shoot’, and what a laugh was that. Most amazing of all was when my dear Dad died he put a note in the programme but added to that asked Cookie to do a 20 second little gesture / comment video which I played at my Dad’s memorial meeting.

Ash was an important part of making Wigan a lot more family orientated and personable than, I suspect, many other clubs.

                            Thanks Ashley!

I am / was all for the ESL. Yes honest. But with a two conditions. They can go to their ESL only on the condition that 1. They leave their domestic league. 2. If they ever want to return to their domestic league, they have to do what every other club has to do …. apply and then start at the bottom.

Top of the league teams left their fans behind years ago.

Good morning folks ….. Oh, I so identify with the sentiments on these postings.

Yet again I’ve surprised myself. I’m like so many of you, and have struggled to muster the energy to generate enthusiasm on match day …. and then I read that the last few of our old team, guys with a bit of age and experience are all probably on their way, and half the short term lonees are going back. I find it hard. I feel a nano gram of guilt for feeling like this.

I like coming on here to see how my virtual friends are, and realising I’m not alone. That is reassuring.

Anyway, I was only a ‘tic fan for about 8 years, and I have met some of the lovliest, most fun people that have added to some of my best moments in the UK. You can all have some credit for that. To you all thanks, but added to that I sincerely hope you all have as good a 2021 as possible in these torrid times, that you and your families all remain healthy and you keep safe.

Thanks Jason, The feeling is mutual. Pubs, railway platforms (was it Ormskirk), trains, even an airport – Zagreb, games – even QPR where you moved elsewhere at half time, but I didn’t take it personally, buses – from Northampton, supporters club. It’s been great to bump into you and have a laugh. Honestly, WAFC brought some of the best UK moments to my 13 years in the country – and you can have a lot of the credit for that.

To you and all my ‘Latics friends, I’m really hoping that 2021 is a good year for you all and your friends and families, with good health, safety and some fun. Oh, how I hope 2021 brings some better news to WAFC, to cheer us all up a bit.
