Two strikers and a positive approach may do that. Or let’s just keep it His majesty Griff’s way and play one striker with his back to the goals.

Even though it’s probably fair to say that I am way ahead of you and Horc in the pecking order when the time comes for a rank amateur to take over the reins, as yet, it still isn’t me who actually picks the team. That’s still Malky, Rosler before him and Martinez before him that went for the one up front option.

Now, at the risk of repeating myself for the umpteenth time (which clearly I have to do for some of the seemingly terminally intellectually challenged on here) I am actually not against playing with two strikers, just not in a 442 because I think we would get mullered through midfield.

All you have ever done, however, is constantly say we should play two up front (though thankfully you have stopped short of saying it needs to be a big un and a little un) without ever addressing the perfectly reasonable reservations other people have raised with playing that system. That said, I think it onoly right that we avoid letting you pose your “why not 442” question directly to Malky because when he asks you to elaborate on exactly how you see it working in detail, the thousand yard stare, embarrassed silence and spittle dribbling slowly down your chin that would inevitably follow would be far too awkward for all concerned to bear.

Have suggested to the Club that they take a look at that website

As you appear to have taken a lead on this can you ask if they will be requesting that the PCC (Press Complaints Commission) or IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation), as is the new organisation, will be approached and any finding printed on the official website?
I’d be absolutely embarrassed if the club did anything but ignore it completely. Can’t believe anybody is giving it a moment’s thought. Get over yourselves. The Bolton lad will be made up that you’re even talking about it
Yes. That much that he has changed the format of the headline and taken away the offensive accusations for he knows that his stupid and crass actions could have closed down the blog that he writes for. If Cockney Latic had written anything as abusive do you think others would have rolled over and said – “oh look at them and their jolly japes, what a blast?” No they would have complained in the hope that the site was castigated.

And you Sammy, I’m not surprised you applauded Griff’s holier than thou approach the pair of you were jousting on your bloody high horses long enough.

Just remember, because it does not affect or insult you does not mean that it does not others. Your high and mighty attitude to everything you write is actually very pungent and onerous.
Sammy, it’s time me and you packed it all in now.

Lord Chief Knobhead of the Darby and Joan Club has passed his judgement.

in reply to: fa cup draw #136721

We`ve a few games before that enough to turn it around, I liked when the draw was made their was no reference to us being last seasons semifinalist or 2013 winners just Scum v Wigan Athletic a lancashire derby .

Out of 32 games, with 8 non-league clubs in the draw, why would they pick out one between two shite championship teams.

    Chip. Shoulder. On.
Because they made a real song and dance, with Bruce invited into the audience, about Hull’s precious history making debut in the final last year – which they lost. They also went on to mention a few previous successes of some of the lower teams.

Arse, talking, your, out you’re, again
Yes, Hull did get to the final (not semi-final, which we lost) last year. And the draw was made in Hull. And they drew one of the best teams in the land. In a repeat of last year’s final (not two years ago). All seems perfectly reasonable to me that they would talk to Steve Bruce and, I guess, anyone with a half an ounce of common sense would agree.

So, at the risk of making yourself look even more stupid, give me one good reason why they would even mention Wigan above any of the other 62 teams in the draw? Or don’t, because I’m not that interested.
No – I can’t hold a candle to you. However, the clue is in the thread title and the name of the programme hosted on the BBC.

Let me see – oh yes. FA CUP Draw. Not too difficult for the hard of understanding to fathom out. There were plenty of other references throughout the programme of the lower teams as well – I mentioned that in my previous reply too but your short term memory is obviously starting to fail you (a man of your age I suppose).

Look, just stop picking holes in others input to the board and your popularity may (just may) pick itself up from where it presently is.

Oh! That about Hull is no reason not to mention our past successes in the competition – anyone with half an ounce of common sense would agree.
Right, so they specifically mentioned every team in that draw who has had past success in the competition did they? No, they didn’t. So why would Wigan deserve a specific mention?

I am not picking holes, it’s called debating on a forum. Don’t get upset if I don’t agree with you and please don’t do what you normally do which is just bang on and on with the same argument that has already been proved to be wrong. If you can contradict the statement in bold above, I might, just might carry on this particular debate with you. But I probably won’t.

As for my popularity, how many more times do I have to ask why anyone thinks that I give even the remotest flyer if anonymous “people” on this forum like me or not?

in reply to: Malky Mackay #136714
Well someone needs to be asking these questions because what we have had this season needs questioning.

But he’s only been here for 3 games not all season, you buffoon!! Very, very few football clubs allow their manager to run the gauntlet of supporters in such an open forum. If they let people in who are simply hell bent on telling the (brand new) manager that a) you’re shit and b) you should change your tactics because I’ve played Championship Manager and me and my mate Horc could do a better job than you.

Fortunately, the people who go to these things adopt a more reasoned, mature approach to the debate. Which is why we continue to be lucky enough as a set of fans to have them.

in reply to: Malky Mackay #136713
If I could speak with Malky I would ask firstly why does he think that relegated sides generally struggle in the Championship and secondly which formation does he feel is best to counter sides who use the old fashioned 4-4-2 system.

Then I’d ask him what he thinks of that mouthy cretin Tan

The calm, reasoned nature of your first two questions would probably earn you the opportunity to ask the third – before they drag you away! ;)

    in reply to: Delort #136712
May not even get to be in the squad Saturday. Will need resting after all these reserve games.Question is would he be able to score at Championship level.

Seen absolutely no sign of it yet in bis time here. But, if you don’t play him he never will. So, either pick him from the start for a few games, or forget about him altogther.

Same applies to Riera (who looks a better prospect, to me). Get him in, or forget him altogther and bring back Holt.

No problem with people not wanting to go. Nobody is going to tell me I shouldn’t go and slag me off for if I do. Which is what I believe has been happening on social media tonight.

I was more than likely not going – I must just change my mind now

That’s not what I’ve tried to achieve with that article Griff. It would be great if we could get a united effort to make a statement here, but if people feel that’s not the right thing to do then it’s their call. There will always be people who overstep the mark, but the core point remains – clubs are taking the mick and will continue to until fans make it clear they’re not having it anymore.
No, I’m sure you weren’t, and i wasn’t getting at you. In fact, I’ll be honest, I hadn’t even read your article (sorry) when I posted. I was reacting to some comments I’d seen on Facebook and Twitter in which people were apparently being criticised for “breaking the boycott”.

As I said, no issue whatsoever with people who decide not to go on principle. Don’t see why it should be Wigan Athletic fans who take this whole pricing issue all upon themselves and any effect will diluted by those who – quite rightly, if they choose to – will still want to pay the (ridiculous and scandalous) ticket price and go.

I suppose you are right there Griff its so rewarding watching all the goals we are scoring and to see the amazing goal scoring record of our lone striker. It would be such a stupid thing to change this style and also such an unobvious question to ask the man who has it in his hands to change things we are doing to a low scoring side without a prolific goal scoring striker!!!

And of course you’d have the balls to ask him that question, in that tone, in those exact words, wouldn’t you? Would you fuck and, rightly, you wouldn’t be allowed to. These sessions are to have sensible reasoned debate not to listen to some FIFA 15 armchair amateur squawk “442”, “442” over and over again until Mackay says “do you know what Donny, you’re right, I’ll change everything I was planning to do inside my first three games at the club because you know Horc so you must be a football genius too”.

in reply to: fa cup draw #136691
Erm, For some reason i can’t see the BBC making a big song and dance about Latics with the current Whelan – Mackay scenario going on. To be quite blunt, i was surprised they didn’t bleep out the name Wigan Athletic when Chappers said it.

    Yeah, that too!

in reply to: Malky Mackay #136687
Again when are we going to give up this one up front nonsense.

I find it hilarious that you would seriously expect Jason to ask that. No wonder they don’t let just anyone go and talk to the managers.

Don’t be such a bunch of mard arses. It’s a bit rich coming from a team with a set of fans that taunts Bolton for being “a town full of Pakis”.

We should give the lad a lot of credit for managing to wind you all up so easily and for managing to type all that in the first place, what with the disadvantage of having to type with 6 fingers.

Plus, I’m pretty sure that the lad who made the Chingalings comment is a Wiganer. Tongue in cheek, self-deprecation. Put your dummies away!
