Lets bring Wilson Palacios back to Wigan Athletic.

He’s available at a reasonable price. (4-6mil)
He would add that strength in the middle that we have missed since Brown Catt and Wilson left
He loved Wigan, we loved him

They say its a family club and they listen to the fans so lets hope they listen to this :)

Or maybe its only me who wants him back??

:text-goodpost: :text-goodpost: :text-goodpost: :text-goodpost:

I would love to see him back but not sure we will pay his fee, and his wages I would think will be beyond us.

That’s a bit harsh
Definately, I don’t think jeff stelling is to biased in the grand scheme of things.

Didn’t know this until yesterday…

This season, we have lost the least amount of games since we have been in the premiership (14 games) – second lowest was 08/09 season (17 games lost).

Scored the second highest goals tally since we have been in the premiership (40 goals) and totalled the 3rd highest amount of points in our prem history (42 points)

Drawn the most amount of games in our premiership history (15 games) more than the second highest in the 07/08 season (10 games).

[for the darkside]
second highest goals conceded since our premiership history (61 goals) 2 more that our second season in the prem (59 goals).

Matched our lowest games won in our Premiership history (9 wins as matched to the season before).

Normally I would read something into those stats but after the end to the season we have just had I don’t give a flyer.

WE ARE STAYING UP, WE ARE STAYING UP

They get 25,000 every week you know and have always done. When we got in the league and they got relegated they still got 25,000

Reet I did say the other week that I judge a manager’s season as a success if they have made progress from the season before & that if Bobby did I would say well done
I’m a man of my words so “Well done Bobby!!!”

Looking at last season against this season, they’ve won the same amount of games, drawn more, lost less, scored more, conceded less, got a better goal difference by almost 50% & 17% more points. That is progress in anybody’s book

To be fair to myself whilst I have always said that I don’t think Bobby is the right man for the job long term (& I still don’t TBH), I have said on numerous occasions that I thought there had been a marked improvement in performances since the end of the January transfer window (with the exception of Sunderland away & the first half yesterday).
I’ve had a look at Latics results since 1st Feb & in the 14 games since then we’ve played most of the teams in the division & come out with 20 points. That’s just under 1.5 a game & if that form was averaged out over the course of a full season would get 54 points.
Make’s Bobby’s “I think we can finish in the top 10 next season” claim look not quite so ludicrous as I thought it did when he made it

Two other points:
1) I was glad to see at the end of the game the obvious high esteem in which the players hold Bobby
2) I’ve never been more pleased to have been proved wrong

Couldn’t have said it better myself Tyldsley – well done to one and all! To add, it was also pleasantly surprising yesterday to see that the (sort of) 4-4-2 formation didn’t work and that 4-5-1 won the game.

Quite a strange feeling though to think that, ultimately, we had a better season than last year, despite spending almost all of it in the bottom 4!!
We never played 4 4 2 Connor played up top with Hugo on the left or at least thats how it looked from the away end at Stoke with my beer goggles on.

Did anyone see Bob’s reaction after Hugo scored? How cool was he? It was almost a “Told you so” pose.

If you can keep your head while all around are losing theirs, and all that…

It was probably shock, back to back wins I still keep pinching myself. Even watched Match Of The Day twice just to make sure :happy-cheerleadersmileyguy: :happy-cheerleadersmileyguy: :happy-cheerleadersmileyguy: :happy-cheerleadersmileyguy:

I think all across the team you could see the faces and jubilation.

Rodders really wanted it and I will be sorry to see him and Zog go in the summer.

Massive loss if they both leave, we will struggle to replace them with similar quality.

That just about beat the Sheff utd game and I’ve packed my lucky shirt away ready for the next time we are in this position, lets hope its not for a long while. :scared-eek:

PS great reaction from the Stoke fans walking off. We parked about a mile from ground and all those walking off were saying well done and congrats for staying up. Might have changed my view a little on those “Mathews boys”

Have to say the Stoke fans who we saw were all congratulating us on staying up and wishing us all the best. Still not my favorite set of fans but fair play to them.

We are staying up, We are staying up.
