Fair enough, we haven’t really got rid of any keepers or centre halves but personally I think that this team might be easier on the eye than Whelan’s current Championship cast-off XI, and a better bet for staying up. Of course, he’d be £100m worse off, though.
Carroll
Chimbonda DeZeuw Webster Baines
Valencia Palacios Cattermole McCulloch
Ellington HeskeySubs: Bullard, Taylor, Roberts
take out Webster, Valencia and Taylor and thats a reet good team there Martin.
But then we’d only have 8 players :?
I think you will find there would still be eleven players in the team. No subs I admit, but most of that team played under Jewell and he didn’t really use subs anyway.

I honestly don’t see why some posters slate Mario, each to their own I suppose.
Sharner wont be in the team, because he will be at Aston Villa.Tell us more Springfield blue.
Too old…slow…and has the touch of a rapistThat okay, it wouldn’t be the same if we all had the same opinion.
I have heard that you cant buy tickets on matchdyas….surely thta must affevt the crowd…if its true its the most stupid idea ever!
That’s just one of a catologue of daft things that happen at our ground and not at others.
Its not meant as a whinge, just a few obsevations.
Why do we have a stand that holds 5400 away fans, but we can only sell 4500.Why is ES1 not allowed to be used, yet no segregation at all is used at some grounds bar a line of stewards.
How come away fans can stand up all match at the DW.
Why can’t you buy a beer and a pie at the same kiosk.
Why do you have to be on a database to buy a ticket for some games.
Why do away fans have their own bar.
Are there any other daft things you can think of?
Exactly!!! They should go back to what you did before you came in the prem just to get half decent crowds…..give the boston stand to the away team and then you can sell up to 8k to the away team!! Or when its Liverpool / United / Everton / City etc. give them the Boston stand and the North Stand!!! Realistically its the only way you’ll ever fill it!!
Hey up, its one of our obsessed chuckle brothers.
Re: The ‘Line up’Why Edman…agreed he is good but Figgys done nout wrong….If anyone needs dropping outfield its Melchiot….Totally agree with the Pollitt one….And why on earth would you drop Koumas….Talking sh1te there
I thought Figureoa struggled against a mediccre winger yesterday, and would benefit in the long run with the competition for his position.
Koumas is wasted in that position, he cuts inside too much were I feel N’Zogbia would give a bit more width on the left, and get around the back.
As for talking sh**e, drop Melchiot??? Why?I have heard that you cant buy tickets on matchdyas….surely thta must affevt the crowd…if its true its the most stupid idea ever! That’s just one of a catologue of daft things that happen at our ground and not at others.

owd on a minute thats two threads a thowt he only commented ont thugby ones   :roll:The lads obsessed by the Latics.
Before the season started, I think the majority of Tics men would have predicted a loss against Villa & the Mancs and a win against Wolves; giving us three points at this stage. Also, to survive in this league we need to average one point per game; so we are on target at the moment. So a point at Goodison and three against Wet Spam puts us back ahead of target. Can’t understand the negativity. If we had played the whole 90 mins like the first 60 mins and got a draw, the fans would have been delerious. Yes we collapsed after that first goal and we were all saying “well that was against the run of play or that wasn’t deserved”. If we can play like we did in the first 60 mins, we’ll do okay in our “mini league”.
Chins up for Goodison !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well said LHL, I always knew you were the voice of reason.
Art gooin t’Pool o’wednesday neet.or any investor at all ?Maybe you are right there.
I don’t know how much he would be looking for, but I read that the Birmingham deal was in the region of £80M
In these hard economic times who has £50 – £100M to invest?Having just read through 123 post’s ont chubby.com about our result yesterday i feel it’s the eggmen who’s ob sessed :lol:You’re not wrong there.
After all the moaning and groaning I thought someone would have had an opinion on team changes.
Or are we all waiting to see the Valencia and Cats millions splashed out on a decent keeper and forward.
Looking at yesterdays Daily Mail and seeing an article on Whelan has left doubts. He says quite openly he regrets not buying Man Utd when offered, does this mean he regrets buying Wigan?I don’t think he regrets buying us, how could he regret something that has given him such personal exposure. He isn’t exactly backward in coming forward when there is a TV camera around, is he?
He may however be thinking that he has created something he can no longer control.
It may just be growing too large and expensive for his personal wealth and too much work for someone of his advanced years.I have a feeling he is on the look for another investor but is struggling to find the right one.
Has it ever crossed anyone’s mind that the rugby fans who also supported Wigan Athletic are not coming any more? Many people I know are expressing these sentiments to me after the way they have been treated by Dave Whelan. I know Horc and his friends are blinded to the fact that we need every fan we can get but we must face facts.
We can’t have it both ways, If we alienate the majority of potential support in Wigan (yes I know it is unpalatable) we can’t complain about low crowds.
Over to you Mr Horc for one of your pathetic obsessed rants.
Thank you owd git for the invitation to reply to the utter bulls**t you post.
Unfortunately I haven’t got a clue what you are on about regarding ‘me and my mates being blinded by the fact we need every fan’.I personally don’t give a damn if we have 2,000 or 20,000 on as long as I am one of the 2,000.
Unlike most on here I was one of the 850 against Bury in the League Cup, and also one of the 1,200 against Torquay.
If you are having a go because of my hatred of all things egg, I really don’t think that my ramblings about that on here are going to put people off watching the Latics.
As for alienating the majority, who, how, why?
I don’t understand where you are coming from with this.
The majority don’t watch any live sport nevermind hug the peanut if thats what you are implying. -
