Myself and John will be there with bells on, already booked and look forward to seeing any others from the site who’ll be there.

If PoshTic doesn’t confirm, then there could be a spare place on our table….

We won two games out of our last 18, 4 out of our last 23 (from the end of November 2008).

The offer isn’t rewarding the ST holders, it does seem that sitting on your backside for 8 months of the footy season does get you rewarded by Latics. That said, in fairness to the club, they’re only trying to get bums on seats, though £4 a ticket does seem ridiculous.

Problem the club has is that no matter what they do, we don’t seem to be able to attract the support. Whelan and the board must be sick of our low numbers and must wonder what they have to do. I often hear people say “its too dear” and I despair, I really wonder what people in this town want. Even the whale have to offer free pies etc and still only get 17K on for one of their biggest games. Seems to me that too many people want something for nothing and they’re an embarrassment to those of us that make the effort.

It’s quite obvious, WINNING GAMES gets them in, even for us – the floaters won’t come to watch a losing/struggling team.

If there is one thing I have realised about Wigan people, they will support a winning team, hence why they will gladly watch Liverpool, Man Utd etc. It is also why our crowds went steadily up as we went through the leagues. Now we are losing more games than we don’t lose, the crowds are staying away. You watch, if we start to win a few more games, especially against the teams we should be beating, the crowds go up (i suppose this isn’t just a Wigan thing though).

Just placed 2 bets on betfair, didn’t get £25 free???

I just signed up and deposited the money.

It’s a free £25 bet, i.e. if your bet loses you will be refunded within 24 hours. I lost my first bet and the money was back in my account within 8 hours.

Have a look at betfair, free £25 bet – links all over the sites and there are some really good odds.

                  A breakdown is here, http://www.cockneylatic.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=589:what-the-experts-think-latics-v-city&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=50

Any body using the links on site will be helping keep this site running as well.

Train to piccadily then there are buses running to ‘Sportscity’ (the magic bus), that will take you straight to the ground for a quid. The busses run from outside piccadily21, but you’ll see the queues anyway.

It is quite obvious cos I never post rugby related themes and try to defend Latics in the most sublte ways possible, as even though I haven’t declared any allegance to anybody they think I support St. Helens and get the contempt that is vented at them…

To be fair mutty I find it all a bit tedious now, there is not going to be harmony between fans, especially when we can’t have our say on C&W to defend or put a point across about our team.

There was over 2000 links through from C&W last month alone, which means there are links on there to here – a lot of them.

But the basic facts are that we were the underclass citizens, not fit to burn 10 years ago and back. Now we are recognised the (real) world over, the rugby fans can’t handle it and their bloody mindedness, when we were having the success and moving up the leagues, by ignoring us as if we didn’t exist and still berating us ruined any chance of any good feeling between the two sets of fans.

Had there been a bit of tolerance when we having the good times, things could have been different, not with the old fans as that aint goinmg to change, but the new fans would have grown up as tolerating each other rather than at each other’s throats.

The moderation is definately over zealous on C&W and until that changes it shows that the Rugby are still stuck in their ‘We are better than you” frame of mind, until it changes the future between the fans will stay the same… small steps, not no steps.

I personally don’t give a flying as to hate something you have to have feelings for that something, and I for one have none. Don’t like the sport never have, especially when dragged there by family in the late 70’s, early 80’s. I hate what they did to us in the 80’s (Club, board, press and fans) but as for Warriors, I don’t care about them and hence why I allow any rugby related stuff on here.

We can more than compete against and have answers for anything the Rugby fans can bring up and that shows because of the amount of people coming over from C&W and are registered on here, but only three of you actually post anything. The others prefer to run back to safety and poost drivel on there where we can’t post our view or defend ourselves.

Enjoy your luxury of freedom of speech mutty, as the honour is not resiprocated…… and there lies the fundamental problems, the rugby still believe they are the only team in town…

The Freemasons Arms one from Goose Green has been everywhere over the years, as has my St Georges with WAFC in the corners (made it’s debut at Wembley in 1985) which is now on a flag pole at my house….

I know its a bit different, but when I worked at a radio station the DJ’s were telling me about how much they got paid and the actual job at the station only accounted for about 20% of their total income.

Their wage wasn’t the biggest earner for them it was the fact that they were at Radio X that gave them their name and they used that to get the gigs that paid the bigger money.

That is how football should work, give them the sub £1 million wage and let them and their agents go out there (i.e. do their job) and source the extra money from sponsorship, event/shop openings etc, using the name of their club, country or league they play in/for.

I agree, something is going to give and it will take a United or a Liverpool going bump for something o be done, it will then be too late.
