Not true I’m afraid.
A few asked but the club have consulted other clubs and health and safety. They decided the risk was too great to have them dropped off at the stadium and then handled by staff.
It is constantly being reviewed so I’ll let you know if things change.

In answer to match ticket refunds for the Huddersfield and Brentford games:
The official line is to just email ticketoffice@dwstadium.com and the ticket office team will sort out refunds.
Email should include client code, name/address of person who purchased.

The cost is covered by the season charge for Latics TV and advertising.
There were several options being planned, but the EFL forced the hand as it were.

Wigan Athletic opted out (actually had to buy out) of iFollow. They then set up their own TV stream, which costs them but allows them to plug their own stuff rather than the random ads of iFollow.
In short, when the EFL announced (without consulting anyone) that all season ticket holders could watch the games on iFollow, it meant Latics lost a lot of revenue.
