The regionalisation has been muted, but I don’t think it has been up there as a real alternative. Mainly because the Prem were trying to get an options for their reserve teams to get in.
Now that isn’t on the cards, it might be pushed a bit more.Remember, this vote in November is not one to instate it. They want to vote to have a debate on the idea, no point in spending time effort and money if it is a non-starter to begin with.

The easiest way to give the ball to the opposition is to hoof it from defence (or in this case the keeper), it has been shown and proven a million times.

I also think…. this really doesn’t effect the Premier League so what difference will it make to our poor showings in Europe and the International stage.
I can see that outside the Prem 4 less away trips (and homes) saves fans money, squads wouldn’t need to be as big savings on wages and agents fees, no midweek games means bigger crowds on the Saturday (or at least they wouldn’t miss out on 25% less due to the night matches), the expense of travelling to less games saves the club money. Plus with much less midweek games the team would have a better training schedule and should there be game cancellations there is a lot more room for rearranging.
Just giving the other side of the story.

Winter break is being strongly opposed as is the FA Cup being mover to midweek.
I can see the benefit of a 38 game season, both financial and for the International teams. It would bring us in line with the rest of Europe as well.

I think it is still early days yet and as you have said, he did manage a League win last season after a slow start.

Really think Mr Caldwell has to rethink his strategy and make up his mind on a starting 11.
It is horrible watching us do more than enough to win games and come away with just one point from Nottingham Forest, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich, Fulham and Preston. Could and should have been 10 or 12 points not 1.
