I was sat right behind Simon Jordan in the box when he rang Steve Kember’s agent asking him to meet him downstairs. An hour later he was sacked, mind we had just beat them 5-0.

It brought back great memories of standing watching the game, having a beer and a chat with other people watching the game. People who were mingling on the terraces included Bernard from TNS, Barry from Vital, Jonathan Jackson (CEO), Antony Clarke (Commercial Director), Poshtic and many more.
Agree about Lowey, man he still has some pace, but missed a couple of sitters for his hattrick, Athertons goal was superb and the atmosphere was brilliant.
All in all a good night, made a lot better knowing that a few more bob was raised for the cause.

I’ll not mention the other 71 teams who would probably love to be where we are right now, but a special mention must go to Plymouth Argyle who I guarantee would love to be where we are right now.

I have also forwarded it on to the BBC, ITV, SKY, all the Latics web admins, the official site, the WASTC site, WISH FM and the local rags… the BBC usually do something as will all the latter…. pot luck if SKY or ITV do owt though…..

At Cockney Latic we also advertise as soon as someone lets us know about it, and now you have let us know, I have put it infront of a potential 2,500 people for the very good cause.
I must admit we usually get an email to put it on site, but it hasn’t happened this year for some reason.

Goes to prove his point I guess, if it really is that close why not go back to it and highlight it?
There is no way the editors of SKY, BBC and countless other sports programmes would not have shown it 50 time had it been Rooney et al. But for there not to be even a mention of it is very strange to say the least.
I can’t really comment myself as I haven’t seen any footage of it, but it goes again with the ‘bad decisions change games’. Who knows if Hugo would have missed the second one had this goal stood…. we will never know now.
