Or one we have loaned out say Tavernier. He has been superb at Bristol and last year at Rotherham.
He’s been that good, he has only played 9 games in 4 months at Bristol city. I’d say hes done OK but not done enough to hold down a regular place in their starting 11.
Fair do’s hes scored 3 goals, with that brace he got other day against Bradford, but to say hes been superb??

What a journey! So enlighten us to what you think Barrow’s role is?
I’ve certainly seen him stood alongside all those managers quoted, pointing and confabbing. If he’s having no input to the team and tactics, then get him sat in the stands and stop paying him whatever salary he’s on.
I’d suggest he’s there as a sounding board on matchdays and during the week he coaches as per the manager’s instructions.
Simply- he’s a coach. Doesn’t have the stress of the manager. Does as he’s told. Gets paid.
The manager makes the decisions.
Otherwise, are you suggesting that under Martinez he was part of the possession-at-all-costs tactics coaching staff, but when the other managers came in he suddenly advised them to hoof it long, only to go back to the Martinez way of playing when Caldwell got the job?
To me it suggests he’s either had very little input, but is now advising Caldwell, or he still has very little input and it’s all Caldwell’s decision to go back to passing style.
Edit: Sorry, forgot to put a load of smiley faces in my post ;) :cheer:  :pinch: :silly:
I bet your edit was to rectify for loads of spelling mistakes and you’ve used that childish comment to deflect from it. Good idea mind…

What a journey!Laugh of the season that Linesmon getting hammered by two players against Norwich :lol:Make that one latics player, it was Josh Murphy who was poleaxed by a Barnett challenge, causing him to deck the Lino. :woohoo:

What a journey! Both McKay and Caldwell had chances to throw caution to the wind and swap things round particularly up front and neither did.Ultimately no forward threat has cost us all season long and Caldwell fell foul of it himself in his 2 games .I would prefer an experienced manager but I hoped he would have had the nuts to drop the waste up front and go for the juglar but nope same lame team as Friday. All possession and thats all.It just puts the turd on top of the cake in what has been a comedy season.Don’t think Caldwell has endeared himself to some of us, me definately not
The manager here is little more than a figurehead coz we simply refuse to move away from Robby Martinez’s blueprint for the club. No it is not Bob’s fault ,he has moved on but why else is that fucking prick Barrow still at the club and why does it appear that 5 different managers have had basically the same ideas?. Does the manager even have a say in who comes to the club?. Delort and Riera arrive and are not picked by Rosler then McKay and the Liverpool wonderkisd come in only for Malky not to pick them. Whether you rate Fortune or not it simply does not work with him yet he is fireproof. It is only my opinion and yes I’m hurting like hell as everyone is but we will never improve until we can employ a manager who can bring in his own support team and we get fucking shut of Bobby’s sidekicks. Im utterly fed up.
Barrow’s the only Martinez ‘sidekick’ there.
And I’m not entirely sure how much imput he’s had over the past couple of years.
The mere fact that Caldwell has got the team playing on the ground and back to a possession based style would suggest Barrow has had little input in the tactics under Coyle, Rosler, or Mackay.
What a journey! What the hell is New Springfield going to be like on Saturday?
Sombre, like a morgue?
Carnival/party, who gives a shit we wont be deflated?
Supportive of the board and management who have taken us down again?
Against the aforementioned board who have created this car crash of a season?
Supportive of the playing staff?
Will there be Blackpool/Blackburn demonstrations to show our anger?
Whatever, I reckon our failures will probably win the next two home games when it is far too late.
Personally I do not want any loanee, end of contract or short term contract player in the side at all. It really is time to be looking at building for next season so come on Latics get some balls and get shut of anyone now who will not be in the plans for next season and get the new squad ready for early July and not friggin September. As if it was easy as that!
You might as well get used to the fact that loanees, young upstarts, end of career journeymen and short term contract whallers are all that we will attract in league 1. Anybody who is semi-decent will be looking for a championship team.
I’m sorry for harping on about it, but some of our fans couldn’t wait to get out of the prem and into the championship. Last nights game was a prime example of what it has offered,
Football– non existent from both teams although we did look very Martinesque the way we passed the ball around in our own half and 5 yards inside theirs, even when 1-0 down. Lets hope GC is not Martinez’s mini me, but he did harp on after the Fulham game that we had completed more passes than Bournemouth’s average, honestly who gives a shiny shyte about that stat, its goals for and goals against columns that fekin matter, lets get that one straight Mr Caldwell before we move on.
Pitch-not as bad as ours and most other championship teams, but the ball looked like a beach ball the way it bobbled about, or the players were too crap to control it.
Referees – I’ll never call Phil Dowd again!!!. A total joke, not keeping up with play making awful decisions, even looking unfit.
If we started listing the bad decisions that have been made this season, not just for us, but other clubs, the bloke painting the forth bridge would have started putting the second coat on before we had finished. :woohoo:I am dreading what the football will be like in league 1 and I know we’ve been their before, but it is not looking good. :(

What a journey!I’m not saying that I’m pleased, or remotely pleased, with how this season has panned out, I just don’t feel the need to kick them when they are lying wounded on the floor, its my club and I’m proud to support them through thick and thin.
Whatever the reasons are for this absolutely abysmal season and there are many, its not just Fortunes fault or any managers fault for playing him, there are 11 players taking the field and they now have just 4 games to restore a bit of pride.
I’m sure you would all feel better if you chilled out a bit and focused on Tuesday then next Saturday. Lets see what happens, if its relegation then so be it, if we miraculously escape the drop then great. If we go 1 down on Tuesday there is no need for anyone to go off on one on here, sit on your fekin hands if your listening to the match commentary and hope we get back in the game. :cheer:

What a journey! So because we have changed our manager the same bunch of players will immediately transform themselves into great ones overnight????
I admire your (misguided) optimism but face it we are relegated albeit not mathematically I grant you but to expect this dire bunch to suddenly hit blistering form overnight is beyond comic book expectations!
I’m sorry but it isn’t going to happen and pointless pontificating about the ridiculous notion that it might, face it ,it isn’t that bad when you do.What a transformation that was on Friday. The football was 100% better, far more attempts, far more possession and a genuine desire to win. It was great to see Penannt and Bongo run the length of the field to celebrate the first goal with the latics fan.
By all means continue with all the negativity if you want, but leave others to hang on with a shred of hope thank you very much.It may be long shot but I’m not going to throw the towel in until we are at the mathematical impossible stage.
Let’s hope the manager and players feel like me and not like you and the other cup half empty brigade, that jumped on here when we went 1-0 down on Friday, but didn’t come straight back on when we equalised.

What a journey! So who thinks that GC will pick his fellow Scotsman/Scot Billy Boy on Friday? Yeah, I know Malky was Scottish but he was clearly a fuckwit! :)
Nearly as bigger fuckwit as you, Billy Mckay is Irish!!
He less Irish than I am Zambian! He was born and raised in Leicestershire and only qualifies for Northern Ireland because he father’s parents were born in Belfast.
If yer grandad is oirish, then yer fekin oirish!! :silly:

What a journey!Speaking of Boselli, he’s on fire playing in the Mexican league. :woohoo:
36 goals in 64 games for Leon!!!.
OK the quality of football may not be that good, but you can certainly say that the quality of football in the Championship is totally shat compared to the EPL. :ohmy:From Matlock to ManU

What a journey! With all the goings on at the DW yesterday I had a strange dream last night.
It was all around the two numbers 2 and 3.
David Sharpe is 23, Gary Caldwell is 32, so I have just lobbed 50 dabs on the score to be 2-3 on Friday. You’ll never guess what the odds are…..
32/1 :woohoo:

What a journey!Just watched Caldwell’s first interview as manager and you can see he desperately wants success at the club. Some good honest words also from the Chairman in the same interview.
I realise they have to be positive, but like when Martinez first took over, he loves the club for what it is or despite what it is. That’s a really important attribute / attitude for a manager of our club to have.
Lets get 100% behind him no matter what happens for the rest of the season or what division we are playing in next season. we will still be Wigan Athletic, the biggest little club in the world.
