I too have had some bad dealings with the owd bill which has led me to the opinion that I won’t give them the time of day now. My brother in law is one by the way.

        This is what happened;

-got arrested at nobend with my mate for supposedly racial and aggressive chants.

        – Spent the evening in Preston station until being released. When being released we repeatedly told them they had the wrong guys only for the discharging officer us to say, just plead guilty and save us all a load of time. I asked the copper standing next to him to note what his colleague had just said and he replied I heard nowt with a smirk on his face.

        – I found out from somebody who works at Deepdale that the police had just installed a mass of CCTV cameras in and around the ground and the instruction from above was get as many arrests as you can to justify this spend. The only time I was on the cctv footage they had was coming back from the snack bar with a pie.
One lad who had also been arrested that day told me that a cop had stood beside him at the game and suddenly started pressing the heel of his boot onto his toe. He said he didn’t react first time in case it was a mistake but when he did it again pushed the copper and was duly arrested.

        – one young police woman was stood yards from us all the game. We had a bit of banter with her all the match and felt she would be a good witness for us. Got no help from the police in finding her then low and behold on the day of the trial the prosecution asks for a witness that has come up late to be given permission to give evidence against us. Our barrister refused when we found out it was this young cop girl who had obviously been nobbled. She walked past us with head down looking really embarrassed.

        – needless to say we were found not guilty and it was the quickest adjournment in the history of cases. The 3 magistrates left the court and before the door had closed came back in again.

I disagree that the bobby’s on the beat cannot be held responsible for whats going on out there. They are there at the cold face when things are going paps up and should take the necessary action, that’s what they are trained to do. They can also ignore requests to get arrests no matter what and report the people above giving these instructions to people even more above.

and how do you know im not a teenager mate. lol

          very very presumptuous.lol

It’s not being presumptuous more like taking an educated guess.

You have previously said on a thread, that people should stop calling you a nob, cos your children use this board. Lets say that you were 16 when you pupped your missus. Now lets see what age a kid would be before they started using football forums, presuming you have only one kid and i’m sure you said you had more. .

omg this is so pathetic, its like a playground.

            grow up lads please.

Don’t just look to pull people up for writing things literally as they speak them. The main point here is, you inferred that OT was the best stadium in the country and I pointed out that there were at least 3 better in the sense of the word better. OT if you’ve not been for a while is good in parts and at best, forlorn in others. :woohoo:

PS omg is the sort of thing a teenager would put in a text message to their mate. I think its thee that wontst grow up. B)

I’m sorry to carry on this debate, I really wanted to stay away from this topic but unfortunately got lured back in.

JR, I have to disagree with your Scottish Wigan player’s comparison. I too want our Scottish players to perform well when they are on international duty. The reason for this… they play for Wigan Athletic, the team I support. Your comparison would only really work if Andy Murray played for Wigan in some way. Saying that we should support Scotland because they are part of GB is fine. I’m sure we all follow Oman because of Al Habsi and want them to do well. However, if Al Habsi didn’t play for us, of course we wouldn’t. My point is, if we didn’t have any Scottish players, I’m sure not many of us would have followed their game the other day. Some yes, but definately a lot less.

I to didn’t want to carry on this debate, but I reacted to the post that simply said “scottish bastard”
Now read and analyse my response and the comparison for Wigan having scottish players.

I’m also not really a lemur

Fek me our captain is Scottish, arguably our three best midfielders are Scottish….

Last weekend I had more interest in what Scotland and Rep of Ireland did than England, even though I’m a born and bread Wiganer / English mon. The fact that Wigan had representation at international level for these countries was enough for me.

I agree Murray has not got much of a personality but he is a great player, playing in a time period when there are 4 or 5 other great and exceptional players.

Unfortunately there are no decent English tennis players at the moment, so I’ll back the next best thing, someone from GB.

My original post was about the standard of play in that first set which continued for the rest of the match, it was breath taking at times.

Why this thread had to turn into a love / hate Scottish player debate is beyond me.

Hold your hand up if you hated Steve Davies when he was beating everyone at snooker in the 80’s / 90’s, but at the same time loved an Irish, drugged up, tanked up chain smoking pish head?

This country has always been one that generally can’t stand a winner. They think they are boring or big headed etc. Whereas most other countries put their winners on a pedestal, especially the yanks.

Well done Andy! your a boring barsteward but made me stop up till 2am this morning watching that unbelievable tennis match. You are a GB tennis grand slam winner. goodpost

well lets put it this way, Michael Bublay(sp) U2 and coldplay charge alot more for the same time performing. so 45 isn’t too bad to sit in the best stadium in the uk and watch our lads dont you think?

also i think your remark was silly when the poster was being sensible. good luck to you mate(the originator of the thread, not you above)

Gerrin back to the topic girls for a minute. This was posted on the derby fans forum. Looks like they like a trier! goodpost

Franky – 7. didn’t have much to do but i liked how used the defenders and played out from the back and was always an option for a pass back!

Brayford – 8. Was great going forward, like wise at defending. Great from the lad and hopefully back to his old self!

Keogh – 9. Brillant. Took his goal well and looks a serious threat from set peices (something shack didn’t do). Much quicker then i thought and caught up with his man and did a fantastic tackle towards the end which summed up his performance well.

O’Connor – 8. Played really well. Knocked the ball around well at the back and was always an option. Went a bit jaded when he went to LB but still a great performance!

Roberts – 8. Steady as ever. Went forward better today and linked up with Hughes fantastically! Did his job and didn’t put a foot wrong.

Coutts – 9. MOTM and deserved. Set peices we’re great as usually. Went on maisy runs and i don’t think he gave the ball away. His run for Wards goal was another class.

Hendrick – 7. Did well. A few missed place passes but played good and was good with Bryson

Bryson – 8. Great as ever. Like wise about but was better then Hendrick in general really.

Hughes – 9. Fantastic. Only 17!!! Gonna be a big player one day. Keeps the ball well, gets in the right positions, took his goal well and was great with Roberts and ran up and down the wing all day.

Sammon – 9. Took his goal really well despite under pressure. Won basically every header and held up the ball well and bought the midfielders into the game and linked with Ward well. Could have had more really. Never stopped running!

Ward – 8. I think part of his selfish game has gone. Not shooting from miles out anymore and playing more as a team player. Played really well and played good off Sammon. Took his goal well and was always providing another option for set peices (corners with coutts towards the end and throw ins ect..). Put some good balls in as well, i think he put in the ball for Keoghs header, if so, brilliant!

Buxton – 7. Didn’t do much. Won a few headers but nothing really.

Doyle – 7. Didn’t put a foot wrong when he came on (surprisingly) and did that fantastic tackle which gave us a few laughs ;). Well played doyle!

Jacobs – 7. Same as above, didn’t do much but you can tell he’s eager as he chased every ball down and really put him self about. Slowely becoming a fan of his despite not seeing him to much.

For those of you who didn’t watch MOTD2, they showed the prem league table, then followed it up with an alternative league table. It was teams who had made the most tackles in a game.
Our very own Latics just happened to be top of that table!!

There’s no doubt that I also want the lad to do well, its just that IMHO he’s made the wrong choice to go now.

                              He’s chosen to go when;

a} He was making a name for himself playing week in week out for a premiership club that also look like they are making the next step up.

b] Chelsea have just spent a fortune on players who play in his position and they also have players who are in the queue for a game already.

It must be great to be getting £50k per week though. goodpost
