Gohouri has finally limped off replaced with Roman Golobart.
MacArthur has looked lively and a Momo thunderbolt just been tipped round post. Sammon trying hard to get into game, but apart from a close range header not really had much service or made anything happen..
Our defence have not really been tested. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Very disappointing second half so far 70 mins still 0-0. Apart from a long range Moses chip that just went over the bar with the keeper out of his box, not many chances…..phew Watson has just hit the bar as I am typing. :scared-eek:

What a journey!0-0 HT
This has simply been the Victor Moses show!!
He has been outstanding all through the game skipping past players at will. We should really be 3 or 4 up, the finishing has been poor [whats new here]and their keeper has been outstanding with particularly top notch saveS from a Mommo curler and a Moses effort from 15 yards out.
We have limited them to a few long range efforts that polly has easily dealt with.
Their best chance came from a poorly defended corner were Gohouri lost his man and he knocked it wide from 2 yards out.
Gomez does not look comfortable in that wide right position and the danger down that side has come from Boycie’s overlapping runs.MCcarthy has been booked for a deliberate pull back and has been fairly quite compared to Momo and Watson, who have knocked it around nicely creating quite a few opportunities for Di Santo.
The ground looks typical English non league standard with the overshadowing mountain looking very picturesque in the back ground. The pitch looks very rutted but has plenty of grass on it. The lads have knocked it around quite well on this substandard looking surface. Apart from Gohouri hobbling around for 5 mins early on there looks like no injury worries yet. Having waved to the bench looking in quite some pain, big Stevie looks to have worked the knock off.

What a journey!Latics playing well especially down the left were Moses is running their right back ragged. Had 5 or 6 good chances already Mommo, Watson and Macca bossing midfield.
De Santo playing up front and doing OK with Gomez playing just behind him.30 mins gone 0-0

What a journey! It’s bad enough now were I sit with people coming back and forth for a pish all through the game.
God help us if they are going to the bar every 10-15 mins during the game and then back for a pish every 5 mins.I agree with Micky C if people can’t get enough pop before KO, after the match and at half time, then they must be down and out alcoholics.

What a journey!the dw stadium in its current form could never have the corners filled in, the concrete sides of the north and south stands are the main supporting columns for the east and west stand roof trusses, which in turn support the north and south stand roof.the only way to fill the corners would be to build the stadium again or put terraces behind the concrete support walls from where 90% of the new seats would not be able to see much of the pitch.
….and yet we can put men on the moon!

What a journey!i did not mention jumping ship myself
i simply asked what is the point
if you are a youngster ready to go watch your first ever sports match
which would you choose
highly successful rugby team or a struggling to survive football team in the prem that isWigan Athletic have the highest percentage of young supporters in the prem so weres your problem. Go outside and ask the first kid you come across if he would rather go and watch a highly successful rugby team play salford or a struggling football team play man utd.

What a journey!Where have I moved the goal posts? I’ve stated the FACT that both teams get the same number of home fans. Like it or not its true. The fact that some chubby has even suggested that is music to my ears.
Some chubster mates I go out with still insist Wigan is red.
Now at least we can confirm at a minimum, its turning blue. :happy-partydance:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!I have to disagree with some of the “Zog can’t be replaced ” comments. :hand:
Whilst I agree he scored some important goals for us towards the end of last season, there were other players who contributed just as much in different positions. Absi, Diame [on occasions], Alcaraz, even Ben Watson had a major impact. The ball that fed Sammon for the equaliser at home to wet spam springs to mind.
The one thing missing from Zog’s game is “balls into the box”. I think he had something like 5 assists last year in the 34 games he played, now that to me can be improved on. I know Routledge has been mentioned and there must be others who are not has direct as Zog, but certainly can take on players wide and whip crosses in for the likes of Sammon and Hugo to feed off.
Zog to me is the best “one trick pony” merchant in world football. We, the full backs he plays against, all know he is going to cut inside onto his left peg, yet he does it time and time again and gets the shot in.
Now how many times do you see him taking players on wide and whipping balls in with his right foot?I would love Charlie to stay, but if he goes I’m sure Bobby will find a decent replacement and we may see Zog and his “new team” sitting below us in the EPL come next May. :snooty:

What a journey!Having the corners open allows air to pass over the pitch and so helps to dry it out in winter, what with having the lodgers rolling about on it if we were to fill in the corners we’d be playing in a right quagmire! Then again that just might give us an advantage.
I don’t believe that theory. Look at the emerites pitch-billiard table, white hart lane-billiard table,SJP-billiard table, there are loads..Leeds, Reading, Hull, etc. etc.

What a journey!Saw him a few times last season playing in the Championship for QPR and he looked a good player. Can’t believe Warnock didn’t sign him permanently though??

What a journey!Unlucky then, they won 7-1 :doh:I presume that’s why he is always smelling of whisky and looking a bit unkempt. :confusion-seeingstars:
