Yes Cooky did nothing but praise Joffy and at the same time failed to play him.
When people were hoping he’d come to us on loan it really would have been a big gamble. The lad had done nothing at first team level both at Wigan or Leeds apart from the odd Cameo.
I’m really excited about seeing the likes of Tickle, Chentouf, Sharif, Smith, Brennan, Sze, Mitchell and Adeeko in the first team. The lad who was on trial from Burnley at LB looked a decent player too. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Exactly, the young lad Ethan Mitchell is the next Charlie Hughes and should feature sooner rather than later. Will the youngsters make mistakes?, course they will, but I would sooner see them making mistakes and learning from them than seasoned pros like Tilt and Power making them games after game.

What a journey! The business model outlined by Talal was to have a clear pathway for young players from development squad to first team. Filter the better players into the first team squad and hopefully they will develop into good pros. That will allow them to be a “sellable” asset and keep the club financially sustainable. Charlie Hughes looks like being the first of these and whilst I’d love to see him develop further at Wigan, good luck to the lad if he can get a contract at a championship club or better still a premier league club. Who knows we might get a good few million for him and possibly keep him on loan next season.
We need to understand as fans that this is the new Wigan Athletic and whilst it may not see us back in the EPL again, we will hopefully have a club to support for the long term. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Charlie Hughes by a Country mile.
Power and McLean give 110% every time they play, but have been totally out their depth. I can’t recall McLean beating any defender out wide once this season.
Having passion for the club like those 2 have unfortunately doesn’t get you anywhere near the player of the season.
A massive well done to young Charlie. From Matlock to ManU

What a journey!Fletcher shut one or 2 up by scoring and actually looking a handful for their defenders. Power shut me and Mutty up by having his best game of the season. He looked like a man possessed trying to drive us forward.
Probably would have prevented a few of the 5 goals Sunderland conceded in front of 40,000 mackems hoping to put AN to the sword after dumping them.
Have they got enough points on the board to prevent relegation? They have the current worst form in the division and dropping quicker than a lead balloon with Big Daddy sat on it.From Matlock to ManU
What a journey! It’s not just changes up front required, we need to rest Power and McLean. Both are struggling at this level. Sanini looked good when he came on Saturday so did Pearce who can actually take a man on out wide and bang in a decent cross. Options are limited up front with Wyke and Magennis out injured, not sure Sze is ready but should be given a chance. Charlie Hughes took his chance with both hands, who is to say Sze won’t do the same.

What a journey! The EFL are after us, no action was taken against Power when he did it
Harvey Elliott received a fine after doing the same thing for Liverpool. Lets see if Azeez gets the same. TBF he should be fined, banned?? Not so sure.

What a journey! Not really fair when Leam said after the Norwich game we needed a squad overhaul but wasn’t allowed to.
But its fair for fans to lambast Kolo after 7 games??
Conversation ended.From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Okay lets judge Kolo after he’s managed the same amount of games this season has Richardson did.
I’m fine with that.👍From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Lets hope some of our piss poor fans don’t turn on him as quickly as they’ve turned on Kolo.
Supporting a club is about being behind them through the good times as well as the bad. Unfortunately some of our fans haven’t done that, they’ve wrote a manager off before he’s managed to build his own team.
Is Joffy the new messiah? We will only find out when he’s played 10 or 12 games in Kolo’s new line up.
Please give him the time he deserves and not post things like “no goals in 5 games, he’s shyte”
This is the biggest little club in the world, get behind the manager and players!.From Matlock to ManU

What a journey!I’ve told you lads, let it go, Leam’s gone.
Lets have this conversation end of February when it will be Kolo’s team bedded in.
At the moment we still have the dross Leam left us with.
As for Kalamity Kolo and fun boy 3, grow up you childish get! From Matlock to ManU
