Aye, and only 16771 on as well – sh!t crowd or what?
I’m beginning to think that the DW is cursed against home victories, as no home side has triumphed there in a competitive fixture since 25 September 2011.
Mind you the Warriors have only had one attempt at breaking the hoodoo, whilst the Latics have had 10 since their last win – I wonder which of them will break the hoodoo first?
Pretty much says it all really.http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Potters&action=display&thread=184994
Almost 7 years ago, Wigan were facing Man Utd in their first major final – on the same weekend Stoke were hosting Millwall in front of 11,340. Yet now they have overtaken Wigan with their brand of anti-football and are way out of sight. Is it a case of a meteoric progression by Stoke, or have Wigan really gone backwards so far that even teams like Stoke are now too far away to aspire to?
The season hasn’t gonbe to plan by a long way so far, but looking at the remaining fixtures, how many points can you see us getting?Everton (H) – 1
Bolton (A) – 0
Villa (H) – 3
Swansea (H) – 1
Norwich (A) – 0
West Brom (H) – 3
Liverpool (A) – 0
Stoke (H) – 3
Chelsea (A) – 0
Man utd (H) – 0
Arsenal (A) – 0
Fulham (A) – 0
Newcastle (H) – 1
Blackburn (A) – 3
Wolves (H) – 333 pts and it wont be enough.
Hoi, Sparky, Jol, Hodgson – Save yerself some wedge. I’ll sign for QPR/Fulham/WBA and do feck all for 90 mins per week for £60K per year!
August wasnt that bad either – some on here were talking about Europe!
Its been over 5 months since a home win, and if Everton avoid defeat on 4 Feb, it will be 6 months at least as the next home game isnt until 25 Feb.
Remember Stoke????Hugo is still our best chance of a goal.
I remember West Ham! If N’zog hadnt won that game on his own, Stoke would have been irrelevent.
Its no co-incidence that as soon as the most creative midfield player ever to wear the shirt leaves the DW, the goals dry up for Rodellega.
I reckon nobody will pay that for him – in fact the other clubs at the wrong end of the table will be hoping that he stays at the DW, because he sure as hell aint going to single-handedly keep Wigan up, like N’zog did.
Wasnt there some “Contractual Issue” which limited his appearances for Blackburn?
I wonder what they were.
He’s cack and will be no great loss.
I was surprised that Connor Salmon wasnt used as a battering ram last night. With Kompany and Richards out, their back 4 was as fragile as it’s going to get.
What a wonderful article.
Sounds like they kept the details of there being a football match in Wigan last night quiet (in Wigan at least).
I’m reliably informed that the visiting numbers for that fixture were less than 50.
I’m also reliably informed that the visiting fans last night were far more than 50.
Face it – it was a $hit crowd that would have been far far worse had your opponents not brought such a huge following.
If you are drawn at home in the next round, you could close the North, West and the South stands, and just split the East stand.
6697, of which a large proportion were following Preston.
Are we not talking about semi finalists picking who they play next. What has Swindon’s dodgy financial history got to do with picking your opponents.Actually if you go to the start of the thread it was from a Latics fan saying how he’d enjoyed the atmosphere in a recent game. Somewhere along the way it became a “lets slag off the rugby” session again.
