The shrinking 7 million, is now 3.5 million according to reports.
Typical Latics, grab the first offer; rather than hold their nerve and stoke up interest with bigger & more attractive clubs. We must be desperate to pay Danson his pocket money back
It’s ludicrous.
I saved at least £13 (fuel & parking) by watching from home last night. Add another tenner to that if I’d risked a pie & pint at the ground. However, if our football was scintillating I would have dragged myself to the game.
Our commercial team need wise up to the fact that their strategy is not working, especially when the “die hards” fail to turn out.Who sets the car park fees ? Not too many seasons ago the South car park was free ! Six quid for 2 -3 hours is OTT. Its not as if the car park is well maintained. They need to reduce the fees to a minimum so that the basic operating costs (a few traffic marshals) for the match are re-covered.
I’ve just spotted the ticket price for the Crawley game. Twenty eight smackers !!!
It’s a good job that I renewed my ST, otherwise that would be another no show for me.Barnsley missed three sitters in that last thirty minutes and should have had us dead and buried by 90 minutes.
Now I’ve calmed down, I can make a more reasonable assessment.Positives:
Luke Chambers is class, and probably the best performance of the night.
James Carragher, bar a few lapses of concentration, will be able to slot into league 1 football easily.
Will Aimson is calm and well assured.Uncertain:
I like Matt Smith, but he tends to slow the game down too much and quite often misses the opportunity for that quick killer pass. He needs to learn when slow is good and when urgency can be dangerous for the opposition.
Calvin Ramsay; I will give him more games before I reach a verdict.
Josh Stones looks to have potential, but I feel he is trying too hard to impress; chasing the ball rather than getting into space.Negative:
SM is biting his lip at the moment, or following the corporate line in posh speak. His body language in press interviews has gone more introspective and he can’t look the camera in the face; which is an indication that he is not saying what he really wants us to know. Yes I think CW is right; and when SM’s patience with the virtual board explodes, he’ll be off. Probably when he’s given some loose change to spend from the Hughes deal.People laughed at Dave Whelan when he promised to take us to the Premier League. At least in that era, the ambition of the club was in the open for everybody to poke fun at. But we did have the last laugh in the end and that was our most memorable era ever; that will never be repeated.
Bit like the Knob End scenario.
They have only signed 3 players in the window and have no goal scoring threat.
On Sunday, Ryan Lowe quit. Quit; not pushed !
He reckons that he cannot take the current team any further. In other words he’s not been allowed to invest by Ridsdale and so he’s told em to stick it !
Could be us soon
We could have the best striker No 9 in the country and the penny would still not drop !
We have to pass to him in good positions.
Maybe our No 9 needs a flashing beacon on his head
Arrived @ 16:14pm this afternoon.
Now loaded onto my mobile.Let the fun begin
Just received an e:mail from the ticket office.
Anyone who ordered at digital ST will receive an e:mail in the next two days; from which you will be able to download a digital image of your season ticket card into the wallet on your smart phone.
Hope it works
I’ve e:mailed the club / ticket office, but no answer to date.
Our ticketing website does mention issue of the Sludge Rats digital STs, but not ours
I can see me outside the ground on Saturday, protesting with Leyland Latics !!!
Feels like our club is going down the drain.
Absolutely gobsmacked !
The sign of things to come ???
Hi there Leyland Latic;
Did you ever get a satisfactory response ?
I have visions of the digital ST holders being stuck outside the ground next Saturday
Has anybody got their digital ST yet, or will we all be outside the turnstiles next Saturday
Yep Bullitt,
Unfortunately, I think you are correct
Looks like Joe Hugill could sign on loan from the Red Mancs.
Quite a useful player, if we play him as a proper centre forward.Yep, I think you are right CW.
Looks like STOCKPORT (what have they ever achieved) are going to beat us to the signing of the Crystal Palace left back on a season long loan.
Shaun is going to need a magic wand to keep the fans in the stands.Like the reference to “The Slutch Rats”, by the way.
Can’t help but feel dis-heartened before a ball is kicked in anger; and couldn’t blame Maloney if he walked off the pitch to find a role at a club with a modicum of ambition.
I have renewed my long standing ST; but from the 10th of Aug it’s the “Last Chance Saloon” unless there is a glimmer of ambition shown from above. Wigan Athletic have always shown ambition, no matter what league we have played in. Mediocrity will not suffice
