Aye, results went okay for us today. A bit of incentive to fight at Owd Trafford, and maybe scab a point !

I think we could possibly lose Figueroa, Scharner and N’Zogbia because of the interest in them and the fact we’re a selling club and nothing convinces me anything regarding ambition has changed.

I think Gomez and Scotland are getting far too much stick, Rodallega was awful in the 1st half, gave the ball away on numerous occasions but nothing mentioned, as soon as Scotland does something wrong everybody lets him know about it, very unfair and we as fans should be behind our players, not picking up on all mistakes.

As for the dead-wood, I think we need to sell the likes of Bouaouzan, Kingson, Kapo, De Ridder, Cho and Edman + any others I may have missed. A possible loan move for the younger players (McCarthy, Cywka, etc). I agree that we should only sell players that WILL be replaced, we don’t have a big enough or strong enough squad to be selling fringe players.

I think Tamudo is a sealed deal from Espanyol, I also think there may be renewed interest in some of the players we were looking at in the summer (Crusat, Elyseu + others) and I am behind Bobby and trust him 100% to bring in the players he needs providing he is supported by Mr Whelan.

They say it takes a new manager 3 transfer windows to build his team, he has had 1, January will be his 2nd and the summer will be his 3rd and hopefully this time next year we’ll all be talking about how well we’re doing and how far our fans favorite manager, a true Wigan legend has brought us in a short spell.

Roll on January! I bet Roberto can’t wait, he will know exactly what he wants and more importantly what he needs and fingers crossed he’ll keep our big players and build a team that will consistently perform.

Good post ( Alex Ferguson or Cribley ? ).
You have cheered me up with your PMA !

Okay, so maybe Man Utd supporters are the only one’s that can claim to be living the dream. So why did they look so dejected on MOTD after losing 1-0 to Villa, for the first time in 26 years at Owd T.

Gobsmacked for 50 or 60 mins we never looked like losing. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride for the rest of the season, me thinks. That defeat is harder to take than the Spurs game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in reply to: Charlie N’zogbia #14107

    Well said, Yic Ticker !

And if anyone missed the forum with Roberto; I think he’s got more of a footballing brain than the last six of our Managers put together ! At least he appears loyal and passionate about our beloved club; not just in it for the gravy. Big Dave needs to back him in the transfer market and the fans need to believe !

Is owd spud yed’s credit no longer any good at Harrods ????

Tell him to go away; or let’s at least put a decent price tag on Figgy, say £8m !

in reply to: Tell The Premiership #9920

You been asleep then; cos it arrived in June !

in reply to: Thought Kirky #9563

    Hey Mr Logic;

Opens mouth and put’s foot straight in !
FYI, I have had a season ticket since the mid 70s; spent a small fortune following the Tics home and away.

Good example, last season: took two days off work ( unpaid ) to go to the Emirates in the Carling Cup on a Tuesday night. Total up the train ticket, hotel, a few beers plus loss of two days pay. I’d say proper supporter. Were you there ??????????????

Or when I lived and worked in Northern Ireland for two years. Travelled home for every home game, plus some of the key away fixtures.

If your a JCL, you can be forgiven; but you’ve probably a long way to go before you have a pop at me. So please engage brain before mouth !!!!!!!!!

    in reply to: Martinez #8644
Got to say i have watched all the games at home some not good , but fair play to bob he will not hide and sit down unlike some of our managers he will stay stood on the touch line no matter what,

It’ll ruin his Armani suits, when it’s piddling down !

in reply to: Best latics manager of all time #8643
Wayo…wayo is my all time best manager.

Young’ uns ask yer Dad, or maybe even yer Grandad.

Sir Gordon then; and he was Player Manager.
Don’t see many of them these days !

in reply to: Tin or Teen #8641
When you pronounce Martinez, it’s with a tin !
Will all those flooking idiots stop saying Mar teen ez !
Do they think they’re posh or something ?

    I agree Papa !

    in reply to: M.O.T.D. #8640
The highlights showed west ham attacking apart from the
    wigan goal!!!!!!!! *ankers!!!!!!!!

Don’t bother reading the Sunday papers then !

Roberto on the verge of the sack, West Ham were robbed, the game was dire, West Ham were denied a penalty, blah, blah, blah.

Come on, it wasn’t that bad. I can remember far worse games. I think the press alone will try and relegate us this season. Tossers the lot of em.

in reply to: A few unanswered questions. #8347

    More:

Where have all the “football special” trains gone ?
How many lightbulbs were left in our Southampton FA Cup special train after we left Crewe station on the way home ?
Did that journey on the Southampton special really take two days ?
How many Man City fans were on Ste’s bonnet at Maine road ?
We didn’t half stop Curly Watts posing in his MR2 on the way to the Citeh game.
Did Bobby Campbell really have a pair of crocodile shoes and once drink a bottle of aftershave ?
    Where is Frigate now ?
It was only years after the event that we discovered that Andy’s bird gave him a hand job in the back of Ste’s Citreon, on the way back from Barrow in the cup.
Them were the days; seven in the car; all the way to Barrow n back !

in reply to: A few unanswered questions. #8346

Horc, thas pinched a few of mine in there !
But yes, I can answer all the questions posed. It’ll kill 90 mins on Sat’dy if the footy is boring !

    Another few to add:

Did Ged ever “score that one with his knob” ?
Did the Amigos enjoy your chips at the Brig ?
What’s happened to “that bird with the nice arse” arse ?
Why did Coll Ruffley’s dad always have a big bag of winter nips ?
