There was a time when Liverpool got beat at Anfield, that the entire home crowd would applaud the away team off the pitch. How times have changed !

in reply to: worst Wigan player of the season #16786

Jason Koumas without a doubt. Had a real chance to prove himself worthy of a regular place in the Stoke game, and was absolute pants !!! Never played anywhere near his potential.

THIS IS WHAT WE NEED AS I DO BELIVE WE DONT HAVE ONE AT THE CLUB

Posted that same sentiment a few weeks ago.

in reply to: Team for’t F.A Cup ? #16174

Who should we play ?
Play our strongest line up at Th’owd Trafford and rest the majority for the hull game ?
Would be good to give our fringe mob a chance. Afterall, we got to the Carling Cup Semi Finals on a weakened team !

How about:

Reeves, Butler, Milne, Sutherland, DeZeuw, Gillibrand, Langley, Kelly, King, Rogers, Oates Subs: Todd, Koo, Woods, Fleming, Atherton

Great memories !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What, no room in defence for Stephen Appleton, midfield for Graham Houston and up front for Pat Gavin.
C’mon LHL get a grip and get some gooduns in yer team.
Awe reet; here goes:
Paladino, Bidstrup, Duffy, Lightfoot, Padula, Peron, Rogerson, Smeets, Bruno, Bukran, Brolly.

Some reet Kak there !

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on these two players.

There both better than Stuart Whittaker !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been thinking about this since we spoke on saturday, Stuart Whittaker was one of the sh*t players we got frpm wan*y, but the one we were thinking about might have been Stuart Storer.
Nah, just checked; Storer played 16 games on loan to us from Everton; then Phil Neal took him to Bowton. Whittaker played two games and was substituted in both.

It will take a performance like the Villa one on the opening day to get anything.
I’m not over confident it will happen but strange things do occaisionally happen in football.
Hopefully its our turn to shock the football world.

Or the Chelsea performance.
Could do with Shrek ( sorry Wayne Ugly Bastard ) getting a touch of the old salmonella from a cowd turkey leg !

Aye, results went okay for us today. A bit of incentive to fight at Owd Trafford, and maybe scab a point !

in reply to: Realistically, who should #16119
I think we could possibly lose Figueroa, Scharner and N’Zogbia because of the interest in them and the fact we’re a selling club and nothing convinces me anything regarding ambition has changed.

I think Gomez and Scotland are getting far too much stick, Rodallega was awful in the 1st half, gave the ball away on numerous occasions but nothing mentioned, as soon as Scotland does something wrong everybody lets him know about it, very unfair and we as fans should be behind our players, not picking up on all mistakes.

As for the dead-wood, I think we need to sell the likes of Bouaouzan, Kingson, Kapo, De Ridder, Cho and Edman + any others I may have missed. A possible loan move for the younger players (McCarthy, Cywka, etc). I agree that we should only sell players that WILL be replaced, we don’t have a big enough or strong enough squad to be selling fringe players.

I think Tamudo is a sealed deal from Espanyol, I also think there may be renewed interest in some of the players we were looking at in the summer (Crusat, Elyseu + others) and I am behind Bobby and trust him 100% to bring in the players he needs providing he is supported by Mr Whelan.

They say it takes a new manager 3 transfer windows to build his team, he has had 1, January will be his 2nd and the summer will be his 3rd and hopefully this time next year we’ll all be talking about how well we’re doing and how far our fans favorite manager, a true Wigan legend has brought us in a short spell.

Roll on January! I bet Roberto can’t wait, he will know exactly what he wants and more importantly what he needs and fingers crossed he’ll keep our big players and build a team that will consistently perform.

Good post ( Alex Ferguson or Cribley ? ).
You have cheered me up with your PMA !
