By the time that Kranjcar put the 9th goal in ( 94th minute ), I was back on the tube to Euston; so in a positive manner I gave Roberto the benefit of the doubt since I only witnessed 9 of the 10 goal thriller.
Getting a bit embarrassing this post now. Bobby has only ever spoken positivley about the latics and with our current situation its now becoming a bit of a joke.Ian, I see that you are new to this board; maybe never watched the Latics or know enough about our beloved Roberto’s demeanour. Yes Roberto only speaks about Wigan in a positive manner; but then he speaks about everything in a positive manner. Example; we lose to Spurs 8-1 and his first comment is that we can take positives from the game. It was like this, week in & week out; to the point it became a tedious bunch of spin. He must have the most rose tinted spectacles of all time, so much so that he was continually blind to the reality of a situation ( just ask the Everton fans ).
Don’t get us wrong; we worship Roberto as a Latics Legend, but his positive blinkered stubborn approach eventually took us down. I personally thought that he would be the perfect Chaiman & Ambassador for our Club. Great player, nice fella but misguided as a football coach & Manager. He may have lead us to victory in some great games, but then had his worst game of all against Swansea when it mattered the most. Myself & my footballing mates have spent a fortune watching the Latics since the NPrem days; so we are entitled to our say and our opinion. Keep following the Latics and you might eventually understand.
When the final whistle goes all the rest of the players are on their feet cheering and clapping and that big time charlie is just sat there.
His attitude has probably not gone un-noticed and it’s probably why he has not been on the pitch lately. We must have an agreement that he has to stay until the end of the season otherwise I reckon he would have been sent packing.Overpaid & Big Ego, that’s what is wrong with football today. Looks like he’s well chucked his Bart Teddy out of the pram. Shouldn’t even be on the bench this coming Saturday, cos I don’t want a petulant little kid having to go to war against the Wolves ! Not in our trenches, anyway !
