What I don’t understand is when did Espinoza become a world-beater?
The player I remember had loads of energy but a shocking first touch at times.
He’s decent, but he’s certainly not the player to turn the whole season around.
Yep I like Espinoza. Had a great cup final but did you watch him against Rubin Kazan ? Thought he was mediocre at best, I was hoping that he would put in a MoM performance, so that OC might feature him more. Missed his opportunity I fear.
Also: we can discount Jean B from now on, since he wants to leave at the end of the season.
As a teenager, you can hardly have been one of the 983.So you don’t deny being a JCL !
Just as I thought, has an opinion on everything without any substance to back it up. Bet you don’t even go to that many games either; so I don’t understand where all your love for Martinez originates from.Yes, the honeymoon at Everton.Hell hath no fury like a football fan scorned.
Don’t expect a Johnny Come Lately, like yourself, to understand !
Anyway, down to seventh; just to temper the delusions of grandeur !
Think positive, we might retain it !
Would love to beat Everton at the DW on the way to the final.
Thank you for reminding us of your foolishness.Ahh, the honeymoon period; he’s got off to a good start but it won’t last long, then we’ll see who the fool is !
Score three goals at home and didn’t win, Tut, Tut !
Roll on Thursday night and chance to make amends and then kick on to Sunday. Thought we should have stuck two up front instead of doing a straight swop for Fortune, but I guess most of us thought the same. Despite our questionable tactics we still created chances but failed to convert. Maybe just a bad day at the office for our strikers. Keep the faith.
Tut, Tut !
Two points dropped at home.
It’s all downhill from here. From Legend to Judas !
The biggest game of his career was at the DW against Swansea; should have been the game that gave us a £60m Premiership lifeline; But he made a right royal cock up ! He chose to play a cripple at centre half and showed no passion to win the game.
He’s nothing but a Spin Doctor Judas !
Saturday’s win over Huddersfield has lifted us into the top 10 in the league and … we have a big opportunity to close the gap between ourselves and the playoffs which currently stands at just 4 points (we also have a game in hand) which is a better position than some of our performances deserve.
Sorry – I appreciate that you have written this article in your own good time but I must say that I find your lazy-journo type negativity to be inaccurate and unhelpful.
If you are expecting us to play Barcelona-like these days and/or that we have some divine right to win every game and be at the top of the division then I’m afraid you are barking up the wrong tree in the wrong field.
Not quite sure where I mentioned Barcelona, but yes I believe that some of our performances have been pretty woeful this season and 10th place is a blessing when you consider those.
Some of our performances may not have not been great, but most games have been quite entertaining overall, with plenty of action. Performances may, from time to time have been a little less technical and more industrial but it’s like a breath of fresh air after the boring dross of sideways and backward passing of the last few seasons.
No matter how poor you think we may have been I haven’t seen a team who looks that much better than us.
10th place at this stage is a decent enough position to be in and gives us a good platform to build from.
Good observation HORC.
Viva the two man KOP !As for Roberto we always gave him unequivocal support, before he earned his Judas Tag !Judas? Oh dear, gro… well, I guess you get the message by now.
Judas Iscariot: He is infamously known for his kiss and betrayal of Jesus to the hands of the chief Sanhedrin priests in exchange for a payment of thirty silver coins. Has a familiar ring to it, doesn’t it.
Where would he sit in our Pecking order of strikers ?
Griff, I would guess having witnessed their support that both Horc and Alasdair are far more animated than you on match days when it comes to getting behind the team ! Just saying !Me and HORC have always given our utmost vocal support to the Latics. Afterall, we are the original two man Kop. If you don’t believe us, just ask Kevin Langley; he’ll vouch for our decibel rating !
As for Roberto we always gave him unequivocal support, before he earned his Judas Tag !
The original thread is still there with more than 200 responses. I don’t know why LHL has started a new one. It seems even more ludicrous now than it did before.
It is still there, but it appears to have been locked, so maybe LHL has started a new one as a justifiable protest, but don’t worry Barnsley, I am sure it will soon be locked again once a certain couple of posters see it.
Cheers HORC, power to the people !
It’s good to debate all things Latics & football; whether or not that includes topics on our past players, managers; because they have contributed to our history. Let’s assume that young Nicholls one day moves to a big club and keeps goal for England; can we not debate & discuss his performances or potential because he is no longer a Tic ? I think not !has Everton at the wrong end of the table ?
31 games / 99 points still to fight for ! Steady, steady, catchy Dingles !
Do I win pedant of the day award by pointing out it’s 93 points to play for? ;)
Nearly; it should have read 33 games, hence 99 points.
