Aye, what about the 6ft 2″ centre half from Liverpool; young lad about 20. He good be a good loan player.

    Those are cack odds.

To be honest, I’d hoped the bookies would stick us at least 20-1, at least it’d give me a chance to get summat back for the cost of my season ticket! :woohoo:

Well then, have a tenner on RM for the sack @ 40/1; Filmoss has.
Ooopps sorry, all the Martinez groupies will now bombard this thread !

I should think we all accept that the main reason was the vast gulf in finances between teams, with Wigan with the least and Manchester City with most.

You’re so right; match tactics and team selection, don’t count for much; do they !

    at 40/1, you’re well in !

Looks to be a fair comparisson to me.

No, it’s not – making things up isn’t fair!

Besides, Martinez was in a different league to Coyle.
Aye, you’re right WGTB; he was in a different league, Cloud Cuckoo League to be precise ! And he’s better off staying there !

The same FA cup Bob tried to get us knocked out of till we got to Everton in the quarters .

Correct, he only took it seriously from that game onwards.

As for RM’s transfer activity he always talked that he had targets identified well in advance, and then it took longer than forever to land any of them. It was just another frustrating aspect of his Managerial reign. Owen has been in the hot seat less than 4 weeks and made six signings. Looks to be a fair comparisson to me.

Coyle is doing things his way.

Let’s stop these futile comparisons with Martinez – he doesn’t work here any more.

Don’t agree with you WGTB, opinion is about comparisson, in everything we do. Your boss will compare your performance against your peers. You will compare one lager against another, or your ex wife with your new girlfriend, etc, etc. So my friend it is not futile, it is life; it is what you, I and everyone else does !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should have added, about Roberto: just like he’s fannying around with the Kone deal. FFS man, get it done, if yer doing it !

in reply to: cheers Martinez #117331

Personally if I was to name my top 10 WAFC moments from the last 10 years then 6 are with Martinez at the helm.

Then you are not old enough lad, extend WAFC moments over the last 40 years and then see
CORRECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only true legends are the fans, who have followed this club through good and bad, and will continue to follow this club no matter what. A football club is for life, not just the Premiership.

At least he didn’t sign during Roberto’s reign, otherwise he would have had to learn to move like a CRAB.

Now that he’s hooked and landed, is this the end of this thread.

    Le Fin

Or can we still reel out a few more lines !

He’d better get his Skates on then, and Weever his way across the moors to Wigan. I bet he woke up and Smelt the coffee and thought I’ll give Owen a Ling and ask if I Shad bring my boots.

    Perch update !

Seems he saw the ‘Sturgeon’ and was told to ‘Dab’ a little cream on the ‘Sole’ of his feet and it ‘Shad’ will be ok, so the deal can go through.

When Coyle was told he stopped ‘Pouting’ and said ” I’ve been ‘Whiting’ for this news, that’s ‘Brill’, things were looking ‘Bleak’ for a while and it would have been ‘Ruffe on the lad if the transfer had fallen through.

    Brilliant that, LMB.

You certainly put together a good John Dory. Up till now, transfer news was Bleak, but this will get us all Rockling.

At this rate he could get in our Bream Team, but if he’s a duffer he’ll have to make do with the Tench.
