Thing is in your league you can still be mediocre, have a good end to the season, and win the title from finishing down the table.
Then again you’ve got to have something from stopping you snoring from the dross you get served up.
I wasn’t taking the piss. Just having a bit of banter. Must be getting early alzheimers for mixing you and Fatmando up.
Oh
Just someone who looks like you.Bet you’ve got that ” I told you so ” banner, waiting in the wings for the Wolves match!
Can’t believe you’ve handed over money to the evil Dave Whelan!
What happened to the ” i’ll never go again while that fool/clown/spanish one (delete as appropriate) is in charge?”
Got to be worth a tannoy announcement that the famous Bickymon is making an appearance. :cheer:
Can see this being another fook up.
or bobbins!
I’m hoping for the dazzler though.
Is this you Pardew?
In that case, please under estimate us. We are playing crap and you should definitely play your second string.
Given Tottenham’s demise and Chelsea in an FA cup Final and possible Champions league final, you should be ok giving us the three points and in return we have a few players you may be interested in.
Top of the list is Connor Sammon who we would let go for a lot less than £35 million and you would have first dibs.
Can’t say fairer than that.
Well they’re getting negative publicity now. I don’t see the legal issue if it was their error and the lad is a Norwich fan. It’s not like they have new sponsors or anything. They should be happy their fans are excited about it.
Delia should sort him out some free pies.
Try and stay away from the negative past (it really did happen!!)and look to the future .Fantastic series of performances and credit to Robbie and all the players .The question I pose is being that the playing staff is the same and the formation has been tweeked then why the sudden huge improvement ?Is it that the players feel more comfortable with this system ? or did the relegation threat suddenly wake them up ?
In my opinion Brownbill, there were rumblings of improvement before Christmas.
For me, Beasejour instead of Jones has been a major factor – which has allowed the back three to concentrate on being three centre halves – and not having to bail their ‘wing back’ out on a regular basis. Boyce on the right, although not as good going forwards as Stam, leaves fewer holes in defence. All in all the back three/five look solid and have improved 200%.
I think the two Jimmy Macs have put a bit of bite into the midfield that perhaps wasn’t there with Diame – despite his obvious skill and ability; and, of late Maloney has proven to be Gomez with urgency.
Once they’d started to gain momentum, confidence has improved and it’s just snow-balled from there.
That’s my take on it.[/quote]
Spot on i’d say Standish. Just to add, that bit of luck has started to come our way as well but completely deserved from the way we are playing.
Yeah it will be a loss, but our strength comes from knowing we have done this all before over the past seven seasons. We’ve seen them come and we’ve seen them go and we have managed to survive and are becoming adept at performing this balancing act.
That gives us an edge on those teams that are having to come to terms with financial restrictions in that this has always been the case for us.
Next season the teams who came up and are doing well i.e Norwich and Swansea, will find it hard to keep all of their players or at least keep their wages down. Then there are other teams such as Villa who are tightening their purse strings (£40,000 wage cap apparently), and so we are in the position of already working to these restrictions and can therefore cope better with losing personnel.
The other promising area is having so many youngsters out on loan and i am sure the likes of Dicko and Mcmanaman feature in Martinez’s future plans.
Some nice comments even though they can’t count.9th season in the Prem Henrys Cat?
Maybe he knows something we don’t!
I agree Garswood, that we are playing much more as a unit and not relying specifically on one player. I think we can live without Moses i just hope we extract as much cash as possible for him.
I liken him to Valencia in his early days, in that he improved so much at his time at Wigan. I think if Moses had another year he might be much nearer this level but its all about his contract and we can’t afford to lose him for nothing.
The annoying thing, if we lose too many players, is trying to retain team spirit and it has took a great deal of effort and time to finally strike the right balance on the pitch. But hey ho this is Wigan and those are our financial perameters.
He has been quoted as saying he still feels there is a job to do here and that as long as Dave Whelan is here, he will show him loyalty.
Normally a man of his word.
Won’t be much later than 5pm i’d have thought, just because of the potential to get stuck in rush hour traffic especially on the M6.
About hour and half minimum to Cov.
