What was the score by the way?
38-22 to Wigan, meaning they are still 4 points clear at the top of the league.
Thanks for your interest though fellas. :D
Or maybe it was because Wigan was hosting a Community Rugby Festival where teams from all over North-West England were attending.

But lets not let the truth get in the way.
What was the score by the way?
You’ll have to explain that to many on here!
For the benefit of those who thought football was invented after 1992….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYDXkVGpMpc
and here’s another moment from a world cup gone by….
i know you said latics moments but because its the world cup very soon i thought i would do one that is probably one of the best moments that the world cup ever producedor this one, which is arguably the funniest world cup moment…
he’s unlikely to get many gamesI should think so. Considering he let in 21 goals during his 471 minutes of first team action last season!
Yes, but they’ve still got that fool Ridsdale there who loves to spend other peoples’ money…
So was that post made as you watched the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th Chelsea goal go in…..
Hell, you boys certainly put Wigan on the World map today.
The most important thing is we won 28-10 thanks and are still top of the pile!
As far as the concept goes, its complete & utter crap! Its the poor equivalent of the Premier League’s 39th game, and should be chinned off at the earliest opportunity.
I didnt go to Edinburgh, never went to Cardiff, and wouldnt even go if it were played at Old Trafford, City of Manchester, Elland Rd etc etc. I wouldnt even go if all 7 games were played in my back garden!!! Its a crap concept, drummed up by Sky, and makes the whole structure unfair, as some clubs get an easy extra game.
Does that clarify my position?
Now, on the subject of half-full grounds, how are the tickets selling for the big game this afternoon? Am I going to see a full south-stand again, or did folk only get their £4 tickets to see Mr Wenger’s XI? Will that win against Arsenal encourage more Wiganers to turn up? Will the lure of sitting in a traffic jam on a motorway, or cutting the grass prove more appealing to families than a football match in Wigan?
All will be revealed in 4 hours….
17500 tickets available. 17500 tickets sold. Crowd was 17500.
I bought mine from St Helens RLFC, as did many Wigan supporters. They didnt charge a booking fee.
Sorry, but I really cant see what your point is?
Surely better than having pockets of Man Utd fans all round the ground.
Why not have the South, West and half of the East for ST holders, meaning that the North and/or half the East could be used for visiting fans or promotions, depending on who you play. For the likes of Fulham, give them 1000 seats in the corner of the East, sell the remainder to the half-way line, and offer the North to the likes of Heinz to give to their employees – result being less empty seats. For the likes of Man Utd, give them the North and 3000 in the East – result being less empty seats.
Its a win-win situation.
Well, if you like the past then there’s always this one:

but as we live in the present day, how about this:

We’ve moved on since 2003 & 2006. Sure its part of our history, but thats just what it is – history. Just as your 1200 crowds are.
a Spaniard, but not Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola.
Well, according to this deluded old fool anyway!
He didn’t say THE best manager..He said one of.
And he will be…I thoroughly believe wigan can finish in the top half next season.
He did. Try listening again. Particularly around the 5 second mark of the interview stream.
This fella?
I think if you actually read anything that was said at the beginning of the season or from November, Roberto never mentioned ‘improving on last season’s final position’.So, when he said
“The club has done incredibly well over the past five years, firstly getting into the Premier League and staying there, last year not only staying there but pushing higher up the table, I want to carry on the good work Steve Bruce did here.”
or
“So much has changed at the club and there have been fantastic improvements both on and off the pitch, I am really looking forward to working again with the Chairman and everyone at the club and I am sure we can build on what has already been achieved”
in July 2009, he didnt mean “improve on last season’s 45 points and 11th place in 2010”.

Maybe I should ask him if he realises that even with a record low points score in this league he still managed to clock up more points than Sunderland did in two whole seasons, so things could have been a lot worse. You could ask him that, or you could ask him a question that is relevent. I would suggest that 35pts and 16th place in 2010 vs 45pts and 11th place in 2009 represents a failure, and with that in mind, will a 13th place finish with 40pts in 2011 represent a success?
