Some of you might find this funny as hope and expectation turns to despair and anger.
13 October 2021 at 9:52 am in reply to: Will Morecambe go the same as Fleetwood and Lincoln? #194316Apologies, I meant to include both Irelands – Southern Ireland long-since failed to qualify, and I dont see much value in picking Keane to get whipped by Portugal.
Note I left McClean out – I think he should play for his country next game. As the next round of internationals are close to Remembrance Day, its probably better he was nowhere near an English ground that is remembering the fallen.

(or even paying their bill)
A very strange statement, considering Phoenix 2021 got away with only paying 25% to creditors. If, for example, Wigan Warriors had paid up front for the rent and been in credit in 2020, would you advocate the new co repaying 25% of the credit or 100%?.
As for the comments about supporters club not using the bar etc, the new owners have hardly made them feel welcome, so why on earth would they want to incur additional costs for socialising. If the tenancy agreement is only for matchday use, then it makes perfect business sense not to go near the place on non-matchdays.
Maybe thats why the Warriors havent gone into administration – they spend what they and their owner is prepared to afford, which isnt £500,000 a year players on 6000 season tickets.
Not at all. The silence on this thread from Tuesday evening through to Saturday teatime was hilarious to witness.
I’ll bookmark your cockiness JR.
They rented the stadium for 13 games, or which 3 were played behind closed doors. Games last 90 minutes. Stadium turnstiles open an hour before kick-off and everyone is gone an hour after full time. So the stadium becomes the exclusive use of WW for 3.5 hours (lets round up to 4).
52 hours rent for the 2021 season – what is the going rate per hour to rent a 25k stadium in a run-down area of a run-down town? Bear in mind that West Ham have 100% use of the 60,000 seater Olympic Stadium for £2m a year. That works out at £228 per hour.
..A Charlie Wyke brace knocks Sunderland off the top spot.

And yet another assist by Carlos Alberto Power. Where did we rescue him from?
Max Power’s first goal back at the DW helps send his former club back to the top of the league
Now THAT’s Irony.

Was certainly surprised Massey didn’t stamp his claim, had a very poor night.
I was surprised he was subbed, unless he had a knock. To haul off your captain is a very damning statement. But then again, everything I read about the guy suggests that he doesnt want to be there, but the problem is that nobody else wants him either.
No gloating from me Eggy. The big prize comes at the end of April. Even though I have neck ache looking at you perched on the top of the table, I am more confident tonight than I was last night that we have a squad packed full of young, hungry players with an element of skill to boot, that will do a damn sight better than the old plodders from last season. Not a single signing was made from a L1 or L2 club this summer. Ive endured three seasons of signing old knackers under the auspices of “knowing the league”, “proven quality at this level” and its gotten us nowhere, so signing a squad full of players from Man City, Spurs, Leeds, Everton & Bayern Munich instead of Walsall, Rochdale & Bury is a step in the right direction.
I think the line ups showed that Wigan would struggle with an injury crisis.
Mutty might come if he isn’t helping his daughter move.
Be nice for him to see a Wigan team score at home.
Yeah, I came for this one. Even the two lads with the drums didnt stay much longer than the 70th minute, I did find it amusing that their rapid beat suddenly turned to a funeral-style single beat as Luke O’Nien swept the 2nd goal in.

And I will be one of them.
