What the fuck are you drinking grandad?
Shouldn’t this be on the “Let the Meltdown begin” thread because you sure have.
Can the club not use the same reason to bin Wyke?
He will go down as probably the worse forward I’ve seen at Latics. He’s goal scoring record was superceded by his positional play and lack of pace.
Even if your not a prolific goal scorer at least put the effort in to make for others. And to think he was on £18k a week and I bet we paid £9k+ of that.
She’d Weds will have to put it on a plate for him then spoon feed him while wearing a bib and coax him on to chew.
Sh1t isn’t the word
Grunt Halt at £28k a week to play for anyone but Wigan must be up there in the waste of someone else’s money category.
Never mentioned fitness. More to do with effort and tactics, which evolve over time on the training pitch.
Everton only returned to pre season training on 7 July. That might have something to do with their performance.
Latics return was 22 June.
If the warriors make it to Wembley Brace yourself for a change in kick off time so the owner can watch both games.
But good luck to leigh in the rugby Cup semi at the weekend
Absolutely agree with you. Get them smelly fuckers from over the hill beat.
It sounds like this is a step too far for you then Bicky. I acknowledge that Lindsay’s comment about the backyard was crass, insensitive and patronising. I would have thought that if you were going to give up on the latics, the day Lindsay was appointed to the board would have been that day, not the day some bloke who had zero involvement in what went on 40 years ago saved you from extinction by pumping in around £10m of his own money.
The only way the stadium is viable is by having two teams playing there. A 13 game a season Warriors cannot make it pay, and nor can a 23 game a season latics. The former because there simply isnt enough income from 13 games and the latter because the culture for decades has been to spend someone else’s money in large quantities.
The plus side is that you have a football club to watch this season. Sure, its going to be ugly, and there may be a few defeats on the way, but you have a club.
Bicky, i’m not sure if its the fact that the rugby are no longer going to be treated like shit on your shoe any more that is pissing you off, or that you are facing a few years of book-balancing, which will probably result in increased ticket prices for a lower standard of football. If its the former, just give it a rest man and enjoy that you have a football club to watch.
I know you are a football fan so I fully expect you will now get right behind your home town club.
See you at Peterborough on 3 Feb?
Why were the rugby made to play at Widnes and by whom?
There was a football game on the Saturday and Whelan refused permission for the rugby to play their home play-off on the Friday night. It happened again in 2017 when a home game with Widnes was switched at 2 hours notice after they were told the pitch wasn’t fit to host two games in two days (Latics were playing Forest on Saturday).
Yes – whenever I was there visiting family and a home game was on, I’d generally go. The last game I went to was Chelsea in 2008. Not long after, the rugby were made to play at Widnes. I havent watched a non Wigan/Sunderland game at the DW since then.
You’ll die before the warriors do gramps.
My only worry is in the future it’s really going to be hard for anyone to buy the club if danson ever wants to sell us
Without the stadium as a assetThe football club will be worth something as long as it lives within its means, develops youth and becomes self sufficient. If it continues in the same reckless manner that it has over the past decade, then I fear for your existence.
If that changes to a shared stadium the football club should be significantly compensated by the Warriors.
Rather like taking your loose change out of your left pocket and putting it in your right pocket.
Welcome on board Mutty, you can now relinquish your ridiculous support of Sunderland and get right behind your home town football club ,Wigan Athletic.
There’s now more chance that I might go to a football game at the DW when I’m visiting Wigan now they are under the same ownership. Perhaps you might start following your home town rugby side instead of “anyone but Wigan” RLFC?
