Spurs v City was originally earmarked to take place on Sunday, with Man Utd v Everton playing on Monday night. It was only once Spurs realised their ground wasn’t going to be ready that the game was switched to Monday night at Wembley.
Toronto’s average attendance for the 2018 season was 4500 – and half of the people who turn up to watch are ex-pats from the north of England. Here’s a link for you. So, I may have been slightly out with my estimate – but not by much. Thanks for your vey long reply, but to be brutally frank, I stopped reading at this point. Like many others on here, you have vastly underestimated a rugby stat in an attempt to rubbish the sport. The “evidence” you provided was from 5 August, and doesn’t include any games after then (every one of which was over 7,000 – it also includes two games that were not played in Toronto (one of which was played in London!)
Their home attendance average for 2018 was 7176, which is a bit more than “slightly” out from your 4500 estimate.

Connolly, Naismith in support and Vaughan spearheading the attack could explain the difference from Saturday. All three are not Championship standard.I did mention this when you bought him, but of course, some on here knew better…
Football fan in “he was shit anyway” shocker after player leaves his club
Not quite:
https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/vaughan.1383017/ – Thread started based on his “effort” in the pre-season games.
After a month of league games where he got no better and spent most of his time on his arse – https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/vaughan.1390388/%5B/quote%5D
And, no – we wont be buying him back to spearhead our 3rd division campaign ;)
He’s saving us a fortune in wages with the fines he keeps picking up for being sent off.
His loan spell ends soon though.
At the risk of being a pedant.1. Toronto’s average attendance for the 2018 season was 4500 – and half of the people who turn up to watch are ex-pats from the north of England.
Can you provide a link as to where that stat come from?
2. Canada already has its own football league system and will have a fully professional league from next season. And how long has it taken to get to this stage?
the Canadian clubs also play teams who are an hour’s flight away as well those that are at the end of a six hour flight – whereas every team that Toronto Wolfpacks play is across the Atlantic and on a different continent!Four clubs play in the MLS – Toronto, Ottowa, Montreal & Vancouver. Again, how many years has it taken to get to this stage?
The Canadian teams in MLS all have 20k+ average attendances, and therefore it suggests there is a football fanbase, and justifies them being in the richest league in North America.Again, how many years has it taken to get to this stage?
Toronto Wolfpacks on the other hand is another ridiculous attempt to try and popularise in a region where is there’s no tradition and scant fanbase – when they should be consolidating what they already have in UK.Your opinion. Why shouldn’t there be Rugby League played in North America? Frankly, with the anti-RL “establishment” in the UK that block any attempts to grow the game, it doesn’t surprise me that the RFL have decided to look elsewhere for expansion.
Like Egg said, if they like it so much, which I doubt is true (an average attendance of 8000 in a city of 4 million and a country population of 36 million is hardly impressive when you are the only team) then start a league there. So what do you all think about Toronto FC and the other three Canadian football clubs playing in the MLS? It is a 5000 mile round trip to Los Angeles, who they play against. It is as far for Vancouver to travel to Miami as it is for Hunslet or Batley to travel to Toronto.
Or should they wait until the sport is established before they attempt to have a league of their own?
There’s nowt like a Wigan win in a Grand Final to cut a rugby-thread dead is there? ;)
Nice little dig there mutty. I don’t know why they put up with you on here. I’d have got rid of you ages ago like latics speyk did.
Scummy egg–chasing xxxxxxxI was referring to the likes of Blackpool, Oldham, Peterborough, Gillingham, Walsall, Northampton, Bury, Rochdale, Cambridge, Swindon, Port Vale and Notts County – all long-established Football League clubs who averaged less last season than Toronto Wolfpack.
However, feel free to take offence, as its what you excel at.
(I take it grammar & punctuation wasn’t taught at the school you briefly attended. I’ve corrected it for you. 3/10 – must try harder)
Their last four attendances have been 7540, 7557, 8281 and 9266 – figures that put several superleague clubs to shame. There are also several football clubs who have been in existence for much more than 2 years that would be happy with those levels of support.
Do they actually play their home matches in CanadaYes they do. As TL said earlier, they play them in blocks because the weather isn’t that great in February & March.
I watched the Toronto v London game, and it certainly wasn’t dull. I lost count how many times a Toronto player got over the line only to have a London player putting part of his body between the ball and the ground to prevent a try – it was defence at its finest from the Broncos.
Prior to that game, I watched Liverpool v Man City that was billed by Sky as the game of the season – it was utter shit.
Wolves fans singing about Villa on the way back from Palace last night. Brilliant! 👏🏼 #AVFC #WWFC 😅 https://t.co/rnrdROaUAu

How about our idiot who got sent off.He probably needs a month’s bender by now if he’s been sober since summer.
The first target for any promoted side should be to finish one place above the relegation zone – anything else is a bonus.
I know. Unfortunately, it sold out 2 weeks ago after Coventry stopped selling tickets at 5,000 – the word on the street was that we’d have shifted another 2-3K – not a bad effort for a 1230 kick-off for a televised game 200 miles away.
Catts (the goal machine!) will be available to warm your bench from 1 Jan, but the form he is currently in may mean he commands a fee!!
Speaking of duds – that Reese James fella is utter gash!
May help us if McMannaman was competing at his best but he can’t even get in the side.http://www.cockneylatic.co.uk/forum/5-cockney-latic-main-forum/117519-callum-mcmanaman
I did say that IMHO he was a dud, but as per usual, those who cannot see past a rugby ball when I post accused me of having sour grapes.
