It was a good job Martinez hoyed him off and replaced him with Watson. Cant ever imagine Gomez jumping, let alone heading a ball.

Is Emyr Huws back in the fold yet, or do you think he’ll join Bateman in Coventry?

I don’t care how good a player is if he causes trouble and upsets team harmony then it’s time to go NOW!

I agree, but it appears he has been publically punished, whilst other(s) who have admitted regret for the incident (and I have no idea what happened) have either been punished behind closed doors, or not punished at all.

I just hope that those who are not £10K out of pocket make sure they bloody well earn their money over the next 6 games.

Where is this coming from? What does mutty the resident Sunderlatic Mon reckon,is it on the cards or wishful thinking?.

Positive points – He takes a good penalty, and he didn’t cost £12m like Fletcher, or £5m like Graham.

    err…that’s it.

Negative points – slow, cant tackle, cant play a killer pass, cant cross, cant beat a man.

I’d drive all the way up to Sunderland and drive him to Wigan myself. Unfortunately (for Sunderland), he was signed on ludicrous wages by an ever-desperate Poyet and useless Director of Football Congerton, like Liam Bridcutt & Will Buckley. All three of them will continue to pick up huge wages whilst never getting a game until either their contracts expire, we pay them off, or we pay them to play elsewhere by subsidising their wages. Nobody will pay them what they are currently (not) earning.

So, if I get stopped by VOSA and my Driver Card shows I’m way over the hours, or I don’t have a valid CPC, or the tacograph is disconnected, the vehicle gets impounded and both me and my employer get fined, but if Polish Pete, Romanian Ronnie or Bulgarian Bob do likewise, they get to carry on?

Another 180 minutes of bench-warming and you might get to keep him for next season. ;-)

Who says they have better players ? A know nothing egg chaser like you.

That’s an egg-chaser who follows football, and doesn’t go to ground when his team aren’t doing well. Unless of course you are a member of the SAS and have been on a 14 month “mission” in Syria, then of course I’ll commend you for your service.

Seeing as the players Leeds & Forest have got them to 13th & 16th respectively in a division higher, and seeing as many of those players were also playing for Leeds and Forest the season before when Latics were relegated, then I’d say they have better players. League positions don’t lie.

The other reason I believe they have better players is that in the Wigan squad, only two have been regulars at another side who has achieved higher than mid-table Championship, and of those, one is a 41 year old goalkeeper, and another is about to be released. Even Will Grigg hasn’t played a single Championship game, and whilst he has had a great two years in the 3rd division with MK Dons and Wigan, it was telling that tonight he was an unused sub, behind Lafferty & Washington – one of whom got half a dozen games for Birmingham, a mid-table Championship club, and one who managed 10 games for QPR, another mid-table Championship club, after being sold by Peterborough, where he was a success.

Feel free to pop back in 14 months time and we’ll see where Leeds, Forest & Wigan are.

That’s £23 million over 46 games. The parachute payment is £9m.

Forest & Leeds have the better players at this moment in time, so the figure you quote will be swallowed up pretty quickly on transfer fees, signing on fees, agents bungs, and higher wages for anyone you persuade to sign that is of the quality to make the squad better than Leeds & Forest.

As an aside, I’m sure everyone here welcomes you back after a 14 month absence from posting, coinciding with a 14 month absence by WAFC from the Championship.

A few wins next season and we might get Bob on the Moon & Parakeet back too!

A quick fix would be to put a member of VOSA/DVLA at the port of entry. No valid CPC and the truck is refused access and impounded until the haulage company sends a driver who is qualified to drive commercially on the UK highway.

The EU could hardly kick off about us refusing entry to drivers not complying with their directive!

Corbyn is arguing his party’s position from the “Workers’ Rights” angle – something that not only the Brexit Tories abhor, but Cameron & Osborne are very quiet on when pressed about these “advantages” of being in the EU. Things like holiday pay for part-time & agency workers, paternity leave, extended maternity leave, and as a qualified HGV driver, the restriction on how many hours I can be forced to drive each week/fortnight. Sure, it may cap my earning potential, but it also keeps a very tired driver of a 50 tonne vehicle off the road.

As much as I don’t like the thought of hundreds of thousands of unskilled Eastern Europeans rocking up in the UK year upon year, the thought of the right wing tories and UKIP ripping up every right that our workforce have scares me even more.

Here’s the latest thread on him – the feeling is pretty unanimous on the bloke:

It was bad judgement by the manager at the time, just as it was with your purchases of Grant Holt & Mauro Boselli.

He was overpriced at even half that, but having seen Bent & Gyan flogged the season before, and Bendtner return to Arsenal after a successful loan spell, we were desperate for a striker, had pocketed a few quid from player sales. Wolves knew this and had had us over. 94 games in 4 years says he’s a crock. Most of his 23 goals were scored in his first season.

You’re welcome to him. Fancy taking Liam Bridcutt too?

in reply to: Leeds and Forest #148850
Both big clubs and both have been showing interest in Will.
Now,who do they think they are? Once beens floating around midfield in The Championship. On the field our equals or less and off the field I would say light years behind us.
So what is it with these once beens? Why do they think Will would want to join them and more so why do they think we would sell him to them and especially for the money they could afford.
    Arrogant, deluded idiots!!!

Leaving aside the history, Leeds and Forest are both “established” championship clubs with more spending power, more income, and more support. Perhaps you have forgotten that the majority of your squad will be playing next season at a level they’ve never experienced before, and like it or not, will be one of the favourites to go down.

in reply to: Steven fletcher #148849

He’s a worse version of Grant Holt – with a very poor attitude. He would add nothing to your squad except a higher wage bill and a knowledge of the best watering holes.
